STRANGERS based on it will also score success on the small screens when it launches August 18th on Hulu with first three episodes available at once and then the rest airing each week till the end of September. The eight episode series is created by legendary TV producer David E. Kelley! 

 

  NINE PERFECT STRANGERS follows nine strangers from the city who gather for a 10 day retreat at Tranquillum House, a secluded health and wellness resort which promises to transform and heal the guests who stay there. However, the resort is not what it seems to be and the guests are about

The series will air in eight episodes

to discover many secrets about each other and the resort's host, mysterious wellness guru Masha (Nicole Kidman). As healing begins, the guests begin to doubt the retreat’s unconventional methods. They came for massages and relaxation, not to face their own mortality.

 

Nine strangers on this even stranger therapy include Frances (Melissa McCarthy), Lars (Luke Evans), Tony (Bobby Cannavale), Carmel (Regina Hall), Napoleon (Michael Shannon), Jessica (Samara Weaving), Ben (Melvin Gregg), Heather (Asher Keddie) and Zoe (Grace Van Patten). The cast also includes Tiffany Boone and Manny Jacinto as Tranquillum House employees.

added Ray Panthaki next to Samantha Morton, Charles Dance, Colm Meaney and others that we've already announced. Morton plays famous Catherine de Medici who, considered an immigrant, common and plain, is married into the 16th century French court as an orphaned teenager expected to bring a fortune in dowry and produce many heirs, only to discover that her husband is in love with an older woman, her dowry is unpaid and she’s unable to conceive. Yet, only with her intelligence and determination, she manages to keep her marriage alive and masters the bloodsport that is the monarchy better than anyone else, ruling France for 50 years. Panthaki will be Charles Guise, the sinister Catholic Cardinal who loves taking things from the Protestants under the guise of raising funds for war and to fund their families louche lifestyles. Premiering August 1, it takes place at a boutique health and wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Manny Jacinto will play Yao, a bright eyed man-kid with a hipster vibe. After a life and death encounter with Masha, Yao finds himself as her right hand man at Tranquillum, a wellness resort with unusual practices. He’s deeply committed to Masha’s self improvement techniques and teachings and is in entirely in her thrall. The series is not expected before 2021.

TV news for you today, new stars are being added to the cast of ABC's fantasy series SPARK pilot! Lena Olin (Welcome To Sweden) and gorgeous Tom Brittney (The Syndicate) will play mother and son in this lavish drama series of passion, greed and hope in a Steampunk reality, circa 2016. Set in an alternate history where gas and coal fuel the world, the drama centres on the battle for power between two rival families and a rebellious young woman with a spark of invention that could level both their empires.

Olin will play Hazel Stockton who now controls the powerful Stockton Coal Company using her wealth more altruistically than her arch rivals at Lavelle Gas — but despite her philanthropic outreaches to the city’s poor, she still craves absolute power, and is not above using strong-arm tactics to achieve it. However, when deadly sabotage starts claiming innocent lives across the city, she denies any involvement to her son Aiden, Captain of the Investigative Division of the Watch, who is investigating the incidents. Tracy Ifeachor will play one of the forensic investigators.

'REAL GOOD PEOPLE' SITCOM

ROSS KIMBALL JOINS NICK ZANO

CBS is rounding up cast for their new multi camera sitcom REAL GOOD PEOPLE! Ross Kimball has joined the cast which already has Nick Zano and Lenora Crichlow! It centres on a conservative small-town family forced to reconcile their values when they discover their children’s lives are less than perfect. As 'Deadline' reports, Kimball will play Beau, the eldest son, a good ol’ boy who adores his momma and worships his father, but didn’t inherit their strong moral compass.

NBC'S 'GOOD PLACE' SITCOM

In other sitcom news, beside the info that Freeform has just renewed YOUNG & HUNGRY for the 4th season (starts shooting today), NBC is adding new faces into the cast of their new comedy GOOD PLACE! Manny Jacinto is the latest to join Ted Danson and Kristen Bell in the sitcom that centres on Eleanor (Bell), a woman from New Jersey who comes to realize that she hasn’t been a very good person. She decides to turn over a new leaf by learning what it actually means to be “good” or “bad,” and then trying to make up for her past behavior. Jacinto will play the sweet and good-natured Jason.
