small screens next Sunday when his new thriller mini series RED EYE arrives to ITV, Sunday evening April 21st. The six part drama has action set on an overnight flight from London to Beijing and in the corridors of power within Whitehall.

 

  THE STORY

 After attending a medical conference in Beijing and coming frighteningly close to dying in a car crash, Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage), arrives home and is immediately arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport. Exhausted and confused, Nolan is accused of the murder of a woman who was in the car he crashed. Despite his protests that he was driving alone, Nolan is set to return to China to face

charges.DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi), is the no nonsense London officer charged with accompanying Nolan back to Beijing. Her resentment for this assignment, and of Nolan himself, is immediate. However, in flight, when a first death occurs, Li begins to suspect foul play. Further deaths confirm that Nolan is in danger, and after a call from MI5, Hana finds herself embroiled in an escalating conspiracy. Back in London, we follow Hana’s sister, scrappy reporter Jess Li (Jemma Moore), who is running her own investigation into Nolan’s extradition and finds herself running for her life from an unknown assassin. And in Thames House, the head of MI5, Madeline Delaney (Lesley Sharp), breaks protocol and risks her entire career to not only help Hana and Nolan stay alive but also to expose an international conspiracy that seems to implicate both China and people in her own government. Over at London TV Screenings Irish broadcaster RTE will be presenting a four hour drama based on the novel by Karen Perry THE BOY THAT NEVER WAS starring Colin Morgan and Toni O'Rourke with Kerr Logan and Simon Callow also in the cast. In Dublin, Harry thinks he glimpses in a crowd a six-year-old boy who he’s convinced is his son Dillon, disappeared in an earthquake in Morocco three years before. His obsession tears apart his marriage, exposing shameful secrets.

Also joining London TV Screenings is new thriller TV series RED EYE which will stream on ITVX. In this action-packed thriller, Jing Lusi stars in the role of police officer Hana Li who escorts Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage) when he is renditioned to China from the U.K. When inexplicable deaths occur onboard the red eye flight raise, Li forms an unlikely alliance with Head of MI5 Madeleine Delaney and journalist Jess Li, her sister, to uncover a wider global conspiracy. 

FROM BBC'S LOST BOYS AND FAIRIES

British broadcaster will, meanwhile, present their new gay TV series LOST BOYS AND FAIRIES. Set in Cardiff, this tender, and possibly tear-jerking, drama shows a longtime gay couple, happy with their life and finally getting ready to adopt a child. Or so they think, as this big step will force at least one of them – seemingly fearless drag artist Gabriel (Sion Daniel Young) – to revisit painful memories that marked his childhood following his mother’s passing. The very same ones he already tried his best to forget. Fra Fee takes the other male lead as Andy!

Netflix has sent us a trailer for their eight part series FOOL ME ONCE set to hit Netflix January 1st, with quite a stellar and rather hot cast which includes Richard Armitage, Michelle Keegan, Emmett J. Scanlan, Joanna Lumley.

 

Adapted from Harlan Coben's novel, it follows Maya Stern who is trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband, Joe. But when Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she is shocked to see a man she recognises in her house. Her husband, who she thought was dead… Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce leads the homicide investigation into Joe’s death while grappling with secrets of his own. Meanwhile, Maya’s niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, are trying to find the truth about their mother’s murder, several months earlier. Are the two cases connected? We are over in Ivanovo today where Pilot, a Russian series festival similar to MipCom, is taking place presenting upcoming new projects. The only historical drama in the competition there is CERBERUS (Цербер) which will air on Premier streamer in Russia. The story is set in 1826, St. Petersburg. After the suppression of speeches on Senate Square, the investigating commission begins to search for participants in the Decembrist uprising. Some of them are revealed to the authorities by the informers. Suddenly, a series of brutal murders takes place in St. Petersburg: those who snitched on the Decembrists become victims. Near the bodies of the dead, there is invariably a piece of paper with lines from a poem by the young poet Alexander Pushkin. A detective (Timofey Tribuntsev) who arrived from Moscow to St. Petersburg, as well as a nobleman (Sergey Marin), who was released from arrest, take up the investigation of the case. It turns out that the secret investigation is not dealing with criminality, but with a strictly planned political revenge. Revenge, the highest point of which should be the murder of the new Russian Tsar Nicholas I.

This magical coming-of-age novel is set in Ancient Greece and is inspired by the myth of Penelope’s hanged maids. In the cursed kingdom of Ithaca, each spring brings the hanging of twelve young women, a tithe to the vengeful Poseidon. But when Leto awakens from her death on the shore of a magical island, its enigmatic keeper Melantho tells her that she has been chosen by the Gods to break Ithaca’s curse. Leto must return home and kill the prince.

The ten episode series, starring Laurie Davidson as young William Shakespeare, will start airing July 10! Another new sf series to arrive to us in the future from SyFy is the small screen adaptation of Beau Smith's WYNONNA EARP graphic novel which has officially been greenlit by the channel into supernatural Western TV series!

She is a descendant of the famous lawman Wyatt Earp, and she's the top special agent for a special unit known as The Monster Squad. She battles such supernatural threats as Bobo Del Rey and his redneck, trailer-trash vampires that are pushing a new killer designer drug called "Hemo," and the Egyptian Mafia's mummy hitman, Raduk, Eater Of The Dead, who's out to do in all the other crime bosses. In her subsequent adventures she finished some outstanding Earp family business while dealing with Hillbilly Gremlins, and Zombie Mailmen alongside her fellow Marshalls.

You can also check out the trailer for new animated movie SONG OF THE SEA!  In this enchanting new story from the Academy Award-nominated director of The Secret of Kells, Ben and his little sister Saoirse, the last Seal-child, must embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea. The film takes inspiration from the mythological Selkies of Irish folklore, who live as seals in the sea but become humans on land.

Speaking of Irish, 'The Hollywood Reporter' has released the first stills from Irish medieval movie PILGRIMAGE starring Jon Bernthal, Richard Armitage and Tom Holland. The film from Brendan Muldowney centres on a group of monks who undertake a pilgrimage to transport their monastery's holiest relic to Rome. When the true significance of the relic is revealed, the journey becomes much more treacherous, and the group's faith and loyalty to one another are tested. Bernthal plays a mute brother with a violent past. Armitage portrays a misanthropic knight with whom the monks are forced to share their journey. Holland plays the entry character of the story, a pious young novice. Stanley Weber also stars!
