Even if you are not much into German series, I think insanely gorgeous Moritz Otto is more than enough of a reason to check out six episode series THE CRUISE DOCTOR (Der Schiffsarzt) which aired previously on German RTL Plus but will hit Acorn TV from today Monday April 6th available for your viewing pleasure also on their channel at Prime Video and I think you can stream it on Apple TV too. The story follows Dr. Eric Leonhard (Moritz Otto), a surgeon and ER doctor who signs on as the physician on a cruise ship. The crew don’t suspect that the real reason he’s joined them is to conduct his own investigation into the disappearance of his pregnant wife, Sarah, who vanished without a trace several months ago. With the police investigation having yielded no results, and Eric convinced that Sarah and his child, who must’ve been born by now, are still alive, he is determined to find them. Seeing a photograph of Sarah at the bar of a cruise ship is what prompts him to sign on as the ship’s doctor. Once on board, though, Eric trusts no one, as any crew member could potentially be involved in the disappearance.

When the famous dragon slayer Siegfried von Xanten (Jannis Niewöhner) appears in Worms and threatens the old structures with his unpredictability, Hagen increasingly becomes a tragic figure.The young King Gunter (Dominic Marcus Singer), still inexperienced due to the sudden death of his father, sees in Siegfried a chance to save the kingdom. He asks him for help in marrying the dangerous Valkyrie Brunhild (Rosalinde Mynster). When Kriemhild falls in love with Hagen's adversary Siegfried, he must choose between love and loyalty to the king. In the process, Hagen von Tronje will discover who he truly is.

If I got it right, the film will arrive into German cinemas on October 17th titled HAGEN - IN THE VALLEY OF THE NIBELUNGS (HAGEN - IM TAL DER NIBELUNGEN) and directed by Cyrill Boss and Philipp Stennert, and will then stream sometime next year on German streamer RTL+ in the form of an epic mini TV series that will continue and expand the story from the film and will after that hit linear RTL channel in Germany also as a series.  Freemantle is handling worldwide distribution.

 

THE STORY OF HAGEN EPIC TV SERIES

I was excited to see this one before, but after seeing the trailer I was seriously shocked by how atrociously miscast the female lead is, she looks nothing like the real queen and what is with that ugly pout? Who can watch her pouting so hideously for six episodes which is how long MAXIMA series about the Argentinian-born Dutch Queen Máxima lasts. How did Delfina Chaves seriously get cast in this one? Were they trying to humiliate real Maxima by casting such talentless actress? Just look at that horrible unroyal posture and stewardess dress in the first poster. Atrocious. Martijn Lakemeier plays her husband, Dutch king Willem in the series that hits Videoland streamer
April 20th with Beta Film distributing it around the world. Sebastian Koch stars as Claus von Amsberg, the father of Willem-Alexander, and Elsie de Brauw as Queen Beatrix. The series will probably air on RTL channels as well around Europe.

broke streaming records that the first season had set for RTL. The viewing numbers in linear viewing were lower, but the streaming numbers saw a jump. The series also airs around the world, including Disney Plus. It is expected for the third season to arrive again around Christmas holidays, so late December in Germany and Europe. The third season will continue the story of the Austrian imperial couple Sisi (Dominique Devenport) and her husband emperor Franz (Jannik Schumann). The second season saw them crowned in Hungary ending in year 1867 which means the writers have still thirty more years to cover before Sisi's assassination in Geneva back in 1898. Stay tuned for casting news which we will announce as soon as we get them, we are sure there will be some new faces in the cast of the third season. In some countries the series streams on Lionsgate + and in Australia on SBS. Epic Drama airs it in parts of Europe.

Archery Pictures has acquired movie rights to Sarah Underwood's best selling novel LIES WE SING TO THE SEA. Ripley Parker has been set to adapt it. This magical coming-of-age novel is set in Ancient Greece and is inspired by the myth of Penelope’s hanged maids. In the cursed kingdom of Ithaca, each spring brings the hanging of twelve young women, a tithe to the vengeful Poseidon. But when Leto awakens from her death on the shore of a magical island, its enigmatic keeper Melantho tells her that she has been chosen by the Gods to break Ithaca’s curse. Leto must return home and kill the prince.

Netflix has revealed first images from their new steamy series OBSESSION which will air its three episodes this April with Richard Armitage playing a respected London surgeon whose affair with his son’s fiancée turns into an erotic infatuation that threatens to change their lives forever! Armitage is William, a doctor who embarks on a passionate affair with his soon-to-be daughter in law, Anna (Charlie Murphy). Anna is already engaged to William’s son Martyn.
