Sky has announced cast for their new eight part series CHARMER which will star Anthony Boyle, Connor Swindells and Polly Walker. It follows an ambitious group of thirty-something Londoners whose lives are turned upside down by Ryan (Boyle), a seducer-for-hire employed to test the fidelity of his wealthy clients’ partners. As a wedding day draws closer, an assignment becomes personal, threatening the professional distance that has always underpinned Ryan’s work. As deception gives way to desire, Ryan risks breaking the one rule that has always defined him: never fall in love.

After a successful run over at U&Alibi channel cosy crime period set series BOOKISH will from August 26th start airing second season which will see Mark Gatiss return to the role of 1946. London book keeper turned investigator with Polly Walker as his wife and gorgeous Connor Finch as his right hand and below you can also see teaser from the second season which is scheduled to arrive later next week. Joining them in new season are Miranda Richardson,Jason Watkins, Rupert Graves to name just some of the more famous names. Returning cast also includes Elliot Levey as Inspector Bliss, Blake Harrison as Sergeant Morris and Buket Kömür as Nora. The series also sees the return of Rosie Cavaliero as Ada Dredge, Gerard Horan as Mr Baseheart, Nadia Albina as Dr Calder and Jonas Nay as Felix. The series has also been renewed for season 3 and will also have a two part Christmas special these holidays and you can see below the first image from it.

IN THE SECOND SEASON OF THE SERIES

Book investigates the world of spiritualism when he’s asked to help solve the mysterious case involving medium, Harold Sneed (Watkins). Off Savile Row, Bliss asks Book to help in a puzzling murder at a gentleman’s outfitters - the elderly tailor Maxie Kleinmann is keen to confess to the murder, but the evidence doesn’t quite stack up and points to something much more complex and sinister. And Book and Jack are sent to the seemingly charming German village of Würl by the mysterious ‘E’ to thwart a thieving Duchess (Richardson) at Christmas time. However, festivities take a deadly turn when Book and Jack uncover secrets of their own, past and present, in an ominous castle brimming with plausible murder suspects. Book’s close association to the police continues to be not without its personal dangers and his lavender marriage with childhood best friend Trottie, is threatened by debonair Colonel Winters (Graves). Marrying post-war nostalgia with the reckless and life affirming atmosphere of the times, Bookish is a stylish period detective drama with a difference

BBC's annual festive A Ghost Story for Christmas series TV movie from Mark Gattis will this year be THE ROOM IN THE TOWER and will see Tobias Menzies playing Roger Winstanley, who has been haunted by an unsettling, recurring dream! It's 1944, and while sheltering during an air raid, Roger strikes up a conversation with Verity, a Wren. When he asks if she dreams, he begins to recount the haunting vision that has followed him formost of his life: a recurring dream of a mysterious house, a silent family on the lawn and an unseen, unidentified terror lurking in the room in the tower. But when he is invited to stay at a country estate eerily similar to the one in his dreams, and is assigned the very same room, he becomes increasingly disturbed as his nightmare begin to become reality. What is really lurking, waiting for him in the room in the tower? Airing on Christmas Eve on BBC Two as it has now become a holiday tradition in United Kingdom, this short TV drama also stars Joanna Lumley and Polly Walker.

BBC's annual festive A Ghost Story for Christmas series TV movie from Mark Gattis will this year be THE ROOM IN THE TOWER and will see Tobias Menzies playing Roger Winstanley, who has been haunted by an unsettling, recurring dream: An invitation to spend the night in the house of an acquaintance, where an unseen terror lurks and the figures who populate the dream seem to age in real time. Nightmare and waking life seem to finally collide when an invitation to the dreaded ‘room in the tower’ becomes all too real. Joanna Lumley and Polly Walker also star.

UKTV's Alibi channel has shot a new six episode series from Mark Gatiss who also stars as a book shop-owning sleuth and we have thefirst trailer for it. With the start date set for July 16th, the series has also been renewed for a second season to arrive next year. Set in 1946 LondonBOOKISH will see him play the erudite and unconventional Gabriel Book, who helps the police to solve a variety of mysterious crimes from hisantiquarian bookshop. With three main cases in the brand new series starting this July, each storyline spans two episodes.

is the dynamic, dangerous and chaotic setting for this stylish new detective drama, with the eccentric Gabriel Book at the very heart of the story: a self-appointed consultant detective to the local police. The thousands of books that line the shelves of his shop provide him with all the knowledge he needs. Bookhas gathered around him a host of lovable, damaged misfits whom he informally protects, cajoles, and mentors. 

 

 WHO IS IN  THE CAST?

 Polly Walker will play his wife Trottie, a charismatic adventuress whom Book loves but not physically, for they are in a ‘lavender’ marriage to concealBook’s sexual orientation in a time when it was illegal to be gay.
