New eight part series starts this week

 BENIDORM IS MURDER starts with John Hannah in the lead role as Dennis, a burned-out ex-police officer hiding behind a failing Scottish pub in Benidorm. There is also Rosa (Carolina Becquer), an aspiring actress, obsessed with classic British crime shows, who talks her way into his bar, his investigations, and his life. Together, they're the last people anyone would trust to solve a murder - which is exactly why they keep solving them. Set in the glorious and chaotic Benidorm - tribute acts, bingo queens, hen parties, sunburnt tourists and bar owners hanging on by a thread - the series treats its setting as a beating heart, not as a punchline. Each episode delivers a fresh puzzle: clues, twists, a satisfying solution, and a corner of this febrile resort that turns unexpectedly deadly. Watching with exasperated admiration are sharp Spanish inspector Maria (Ariadna Cabrol) and puppy-ish young cop Jesús (Damian Schedler Cruz), who grudgingly learn to value the pair's instincts even as they roll their eyes at their methods.

I've been announcing this moving period set drama for quite some time now and today we finally have posters and a trailer for THE GARDEN OF EVENING MISTS which opened in Malaysian cinemas earlier this month starring one of Asia's biggest hunks Hiroshi Abe next to John Hannah, Julian Sands, David Oakes, Angelica Lee and Sylvia Chang. As 'Hollywood Reporter' writes LIFE ON MARS will see him reteam with Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller in the movie adaptation of a short story by Cecil Castellucci titled We Have Always Lived on Mars that centres on a woman who is among a handful of descendants of a Martian colony long abandoned by Earth following a cataclysm. The woman one day finds she can breathe the air on Mars, upending her world and that of her fellow colonists.
