According to Hollywood Reporter, Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski might star together in new movie titled IMAGINARY FRIENDS which Paramount is about to grab for itself. John Krasinski will both direct and write it, while Ryan Reynolds will also produce it.

The project caused a hot frenzy among the studio bosses when it was offered to them earlier this week. Krasinski is currently finishing A Quiet Place sequel.

A Quiet Place is getting near $100 million this week

While he is currently scoring an almost mind blowing success with the atmospheric horror movie A Quiet Place that he directed and is starring in with his wife Emily Blunt, John Krasinski is already planning another directorial project! This time it will be a galactic science fiction thriller!

As 'Hollywood Reporter' writes LIFE ON MARS will see him reteam with Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller in the movie adaptation of a short story by Cecil Castellucci titled We Have Always Lived on Mars that centres on a woman who is among a handful of descendants of a Martian colony long abandoned by Earth following a cataclysm. The woman one day finds she can breathe the air on Mars, upending her world and that of her fellow colonists.

Beside the news that one of our most favourite celebrity couples Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are to shoot a supernatural movie A QUIET PLACE and find themselves on the big screens together for the first time (with him also directing the movie with the plot that is kept secret), there is also an info on another of our fave faces, song writer and singer, Shawn Mendes landing a lead in Ivan Reitman's musical movie SUMMER OF LOVE! A road trip movie will probably be set in a summer in the 60s when youngsters were protesting against the US terrorist attack and bloody aggression on Vietnam. Around 100,000 people gathered on that protest which was also marked by the concerts from Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead etc. The owner of megahits such as Stitches and Treat You Better has appeared last year in THE 100 sf series at CW!

HENRY CAVILL TO JOIN

'MISSION IMPO- SSIBLE 6'
Meanwhile, everybody's favourite Superman Henry Cavill has been announced as the new cast addition for the sixth instalment of the ultra popular action franchise MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 6 in which he will join the lead star Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson who will again be the female lead. Set to open summer next year in late July, it will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie. Cavill will reprise his Superman role first in the Justice League movie!

BBC'S 'DECLINE AND FALL'

COMEDY SERIES WITH JACK WHITEHALL AND EVA LONGORIA

BBC has released the first teaser for their new March 31st three part comedy series DECLINE AND FALL the first television adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's 1928 satire starring Jack Whitehall as Paul Pennyfeather, an inoffensive divinity student at Oxford University in the 1920s, who is wrongly dismissed for indecent exposure having been made the victim of a prank. Finding work at Llanabba, an obscure public school in Wales, he meets Mrs Margot Beste Chetwynde (Eva Longoria) the mother of one of the pupils. For Paul it is love at first sight, but little does he know the surprises that lie ahead of him when he agrees to tutor her son over the summer holidays.

I've a number of new drama movies to show you today, people, beginning with new World War II drama COME WHAT MAY which arrives to cinemas this September starring Matthew Rhys! 

May 1940. To escape the imminent German invasion, the inhabitants of a small village in northern France flee their homes, like so many millions of their compatriots. Max, a German boy, travels with them. His father, Hans, opposed the Nazi regime and was imprisoned in Arras for having lied about his nationality. Hans is eventually set free and sets off to find his son, accompanied by a Scottish soldier who is trying to get back home.

  'FIVE NIGHTS IN MAINE'

Another drama arriving to us, a bit sooner as it will grace the cinemas around you this August, FIVE NIGHTS IN MAINE boasts a cast lead by Dianne Wiest and David Oyelowo. 

The touching drama sees Oyelowo playing a young African American man, reeling from the tragic loss of his wife, who travels to rural Maine to seek answers from his estranged mother-in-law, played  by Wiest, who is herself confronting guilt and grief over her daughter's death.

The last one for today arrives to cinemas late August and it is the directorial effort of our beloved John Krasinski who also takes the lead role in THE HOLLARS as an aspiring NYC artist John Hollar who returns to his middle America hometown on the eve of his mother's brain surgery. Joined by his girlfriend, eight months pregnant with their first child, John is forced to navigate the crazy world he left behind as his dysfunctional family, high school pals, and over-eager ex flood back into his life ahead of his mother's operation.  Sharlto Copley, Anna Kendrick, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Charlie Day, Richard Jenkins and Josh Groban are just some of the well known names and faces that round up the stellar cast around Krasinski.

Now, here's an epic trailer for you, the first one for epic thriller RISEN which is out next January,  Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumours of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. Another gorgeous trailer today comes from Cannes as the part of the film festival's official selection: KAHLIL GIBRAN'S THE PROPHET in an animated adaptation produced by Salma Hayek! Written and directed by Roger Allers (The Lion King), the film intersperses Gibran’s elegant poetry within stunning animated sequences. Set in a Mediterranean sea-side village, Kamila (Salma Hayek) cleans house for exiled artist and poet Mustafa (Liam Neeson), but the more difficult job is keeping her free-spirited young daughter, Almitra, (Quvenzhané Wallis) out of trouble. The three embark on a journey meant to end with Mustafa’s return home – but first they must evade the authorities who fear that the truth in his words will incite rebellion. Featuring music from Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Lisa Hannigan and Yo-Yo Ma the film also has voices from John Krasinski, Alfred Molina and Frank Langella!

Now, we've seen movies on all possible disasters, from earthquakes and floods, to tsunamis, volcanoes and extreme blizzards, and we've seen INTO THE STORM being deservedly trashed for horrid acting and bad filming this summer, but we haven't seen a movie about electricians fighting a brewing storm! John Travolta, Kate Bosworth and Dewon Sava will star in LIFE ON THE LINE, which will follow a crew of electrical lineman, who work high above the ground to fix the electrical grid and struggle to maintain their relationships with the women they love. But they will face serious danger when a massive storm threatens the place they live in.

NEW TV COMEDIES

JOHN KRASINSKI TO PRODUCE TWO SITCOMS FOR NBC
In TV news three new sitcoms have been bought by major networks! Deadline reports that John Krasinski will produce two untitled comedy series for NBC!. The first one will centre on a disgraced law student who, out of options, is forced to turn to the exotic and lucrative world of NYC garbage collection. The second one will follow a middle aged ad executive who unexpectedly  loses his job and cobbles together a ragtag team to launch his own grassroots agency from his garage.
FOLLOW YOUR HEART AT ABC
ABC has, meanwhile, opted for a romantic sitcom FOLLOW YOUR HEART from Aaron Kaplan about a widow and single mother who, after having given up on love, finds herself drawn to the new guy in her building. That’s because, unbeknownst to her, he was the recipient of her husband’s heart.

JOHN WOO'S 'CROSSING' TRAILER

 TAKESHI KANESHIRO AND ZIYI ZHANG IN EPIC DRAMA

And I have something truly epic in the video department today for you: first trailer for John Woo's THE CROSSING which arrives into Chinese theatres this December. I told you a few years ago that the film will follow a true story of a steamer ship dubbed Taiping, which sunk  between China and Taiwan during the Chinese Revolution in 1949, claiming the lives of over 1,500 people who were fleeing to the island after the war. The movie consists of a number of intertwining love stories of people caught up in the sinking, and one of them involves a couple played by our most beloved Chinese superstars Ziyi Zhang and Takeshi Kaneshiro. It is interesting that the epic movie was shot in two parts with the sequel sailing into cinemas next May! It is Woo's first movie after legendary RED CLIFF!
