Among them is CAUGHT BY LOVE with our dearest Luke MacFarlane which premieres January 24th also starring Rachael Leigh Cook. While on a journey of self-discovery, a resort guest gets swept into an undercover investigation for stolen jewels that turns into an unexpected and adventurous romance.

Taking us down under to Australia with our dear Ryan Corr in the lead role alongisde always lovely Mallory Jansen is A MELBOURNE MATCH which hits Hallmark Saturday evening January 10th. In this delightful and sun filled summery romance in the middle of winter she plays Georgie, a travel writer, who travels to Melbourne for an assignment where she meets Zach (Ryan Corr), an ex-Australian footballer who agrees to be her tour guide and shows her that there's more to life than work.

 

 

Lost in Paradise airs January 3rd

LOST IN PARADISE

The Winter Escape series will actually be launched January 3rd by LOST IN PARADISE which stars our dearest Ian Harding in the lead male role. Paul Hughes and James Trevena also star in this exotic romantic comedy in which Lacey Chabert plays the lead female role. When the founder of a high-end fashion company gets marooned on an "deserted" island with a chef, romance blossoms as they work together to survive. Love on the Amazon is on January 17th

LOVE ON THE AMAZON

Probably the most exotic of them all taking us all the way to the jungles of Amazon is LOVE ON THE AMAZON which will sail onto Hallmark Saturday January 17th with Jaicy Elliott and Rafael de la Fuente postraying the lead characters in this romantic adventure. She stars as Claire who travels to Brazil and hires Danny, a riverboat captain, to help her deliver an important message for her sister Amelia, a marine biologist studying pink dolphins on the Amazon River. Britt will join him in GROOMSMEN romantic comedy movie trilogy about the lives and romances of three longtime best friends who stand next to each other on the biggest days of their lives. Pete (B.J. Britt) is a kind-hearted pediatrician with a penchant for planning, Danny (Jonathan Bennett) is a baseball coach with a heart of gold and Jackson (Tyler Hynes) is a stylish and charming social media agent. All three “Groomsmen” films, coming this Fall, “First Look,” “Second Chances” and “Last Dance,” follow the men as they find love and wedding bliss in Greece, Italy and Bulgaria.

This trilogy will be part of new Hallmark + streamer which launches in September and will have original shows, films and reality competitions. But that’s put in jeopardy when she captures an intruder in her home wearing a red suit claiming to be Chris (Luke Macfarlane), Santa’s son, who is on his first mission. A night of adventure ensues as they find themselves being pursued by the police as well as some shady characters. Two days after that, Saturday November 25th is reserved for our other favourite blonde actor William Moseley who is having his Hallmark debut in CHRISTMAS IN NOTTING HILL holiday romance set over in the United Kingdom. Our dearest boy does not play English prince like he did in fan favourite Royals series, but a famous soccer star, Graham Savoy (Moseley), who has always been too busy for love, but when he comes home to Notting Hill for Christmas, he changes his mind after meeting Georgia (Sarah Ramos) – a visiting American and the one person who has no idea who he is. In this new holiday romantic movie Alex Paxton Beesley portrays a woman called Olivia who is a single mom who returns home for Christmas. Her mom secretly enters her into a mural contest; she wins but partners with teacher Will (Dan Jeannotte) to create a Christmas masterpiece. They both need a change of scenery as the chilly days of autumn settle in and decide to swap places, ending up completely lost in new surroundings. Ellie gets tangled up in helping Leo’s neighbor, Sam (Marcus Rosner), put together a musical performance for a local fundraiser and comes to terms with why she quit music years ago. Meanwhile, Leo strikes up a friendship with Ellie’s good friend Matt (Peter Porte) and opens himself up to writing something different that really inspires him. Their newfound friendships turn into something far more meaningful. As both Ellie and Leo take part in the joys of the autumn season, they also discover their hearts belong somewhere very different than they ever thought possible. This is a historic year for Luke Macfarlane both because he got a child with his husband in his private life and because this is his first gay role on Hallmark.

Apple TV Plus has released first images from their new catastrophe monster series MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS which will stream later this year. Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, the story of the ten episode series tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. La Brea returns next Tuesday to NBC

One of the premieres that next week is bringing us is the return of NBC's adventure series LA BREA with the second season after the success of the first one last year which became the best watched new show of the season.The series follows an epic family adventure after a massive sinkhole opens in Los Angeles pulling people and buildings into a mysterious and dangerous primeval land where they have no choice but to band together to survive.

News coming straight from ScreenDaily today is that The King's Speech executive producer Mark Foligno is preparing VIV movie about the divorce of Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier. Olivier asked Leigh for a divorce on May 19, 1960, bringing to an end the 20-year marriage of one of the first modern celebrity couples. The movie is adapted from Donald Macdonald’s play Letter To Larry.

Christmas Contests airs November 28th

We're totally festive today with a trailer for a new Christmas movie and posters for three other ones. First up is Hallmark's THE CHRISTMAS CONTEST romantic holiday comedy movie which will air Sunday, November 28th reuniting Candace Cameron Bure and John Brotherton who played business partners and lovers in Fuller House sitcom. In this one the two of them play  exes Lara and Ben who compete in a Christmas contest to win money for the charity of their choosing. The city watches them battle and choose what is more important, victory or love.

Hallmark has also given us a poster for another of their new holiday movies: NANTUCKET NOEL will arrive to the channel November 19th with with blond god Trevor Donovan in the lead role. Sarah Power also stars in the film in which she plays a woman called Christina who learns of a developer who is planning to tear down the wharf that is home to her toy store. Tensions rise as she falls for the developer's son, Andy. Kirsten Hansen both directed the movie and wrote the script for the movie based on a best selling book written by Nancy Thayer.

Also coming from Hallmark but a day later, November 20th is another romantic holiday drama movie CHRISTMAS TOGETHER WITH YOU starring Laura Vandervoort and Niall Matter. The plot is very short and not very revealing, but the poster sure does promises tons of cuteness, winter magic and snowy wonders and plus a very cute pooch: During the Christmas season, Megan (Laura Vandervoort) and her father figure Frank (Harry Lennix) head out on a road trip to find his long-lost love. Will Megan find the love of her life along the way?

Ben Lewin, who also wrote the script, directed the movie which is a coproduction between USA, UK and Australia where the film was also shot. The film will premiere in September at Toronto Film Festival.

Today we're spotlighting the last of the brand new historical TV series to air this January MERCY STREET, which is ready to cobble its way into the small screens at PBS from January 17th! Based on real events, it takes viewers beyond the battlefield and into the lives of Americans on the Civil War home front as they face the unprecedented challenges of one of the most turbulent times in US history.

BLOOD ISN'T BLUE OR GRAY  
Set in Virginia in the spring of 1862, MERCY STREET follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposite sides of the conflict: Nurse Mary Phinney (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), a staunch New England abolitionist, and Emma Green (Hannah James), a naive young Confederate belle. The two collide at Mansion House, the Green family’s luxury hotel that has been taken over and transformed into a Union Army hospital in Alexandria, a border town between North and South and the longest Union occupied city of the war. Ruled under martial law, Alexandria served as the melting pot of the region: with soldiers, civilians, female volunteers, doctors, wounded fighting men from both sides, runaway slaves, prostitutes, speculators and spies. The intersection of North and South within the confines of a small occupied town creates a rich world that is chaotic, conflicted, corrupt, dynamic and even hopeful — a cauldron within which these characters strive, fight, love, laugh, betray, sacrifice and, at times, act like scoundrels.
