While Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4 are wrecking chaos at the box offices around the world this summer, next Autumn is bringing us a new animated movie from Dream Works studios THE WILD ROBOT which will land into cinemas September 27th based on the book series of the same name by lovely Peter Brown!

THE VOICE CAST

Lupita Nyong'o is Roz, an abandoned robot that lives in the forest who becomes the adoptive mother of Brightbill. Pedro Pascal stars as Fink, a mischievous fox who is the first animal that Roz helps and befriends. Catherine O'Hara as Pinktail, a mother opossum. Bill Nighy as Longneck, a wise elder goose. Kit Connor as Brightbill, an orphaned goose who is raised by Roz as her own son. Stephanie Hsu as Vontra, a robot of Roz's race who has been sent to retrieve Roz! Directed by Chris Sanders it is the last movie done within the studio, as the next ones will be ordered from outside studios. It will later stream on Peacock and then on Netflix as well.

It has been eleven years since Antonio Banderas first landed his voice to the smooth talking sword wielding feline bandit and now he is back in the voice cast together with Salma Hayek and Joel Crawford as the director. 

 

STORY OF PUSS IN BOOTS SEQUEL 

This winter, everyone's favorite leche-loving, swashbuckling, fear-defying feline returns. For the first time in more than a decade, Dream Works Animation presents a new adventure in the Shrek universe as daring outlaw Puss in Boots

The original film was released in 2011

discovers that his passion for peril and disregard for safety have taken their toll. Puss has burned through eight of his nine lives, though he lost count along the way. Getting those lives back will send Puss in Boots on his grandest quest yet. Antonio Banderas returns as the voice of the notorious Puss as he embarks on an epic journey into the Black Forest to find the mythical Wishing Star and restore his lost lives. But with only one life left, Puss will have to humble himself and ask for help from his former partner and nemesis: the captivating Kitty Soft Paws (Salma Hayek). In their quest, Puss and Kitty will be aided, against their better judgment, by a ratty, chatty, relentlessly cheerful mutt, Perro (Harvey Guillén). Together, our trio of  heroes will have to stay one step ahead of Goldilocks (Florence Pugh) and the Three Bears Crime Family led by Papa Bear (Ray Winstone), "Big" Jack  Horner (John Mulaney) and terrifying bounty hunter, The Big Bad Wolf (Wagner Moura). The producers wanted to make it more unique as a storybook than a comic. Using new technology, the team at DreamWorks focused more on a painterly style design, to make it feel like you’re in a fairy-tale world! The first half hour of the movie was shown earlier this week at Annecy International Animation Film Festival where the critics deemed it much darker than the original. It is interesting that Dream Works hasn't released an animated movie in December for more than twenty years!

Everything from smartphones, to roombas, and even evil Furbys are employed to capture every human on the planet. It falls to the Mitchells, including upbeat mom Linda (Maya Rudolph), quirky little brother Aaron, their squishy pug, Monchi, and two friendly, but simple-minded robots, to save humanity.

The last quartal of the year usually brings us animated adventures for the Autumn and Winter moments filled with festive atmosphere around Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The honour of announcing that season this years goes to ABOMINABLE animated adventure which Dreamworks is releasing this Friday! It will continue opening around the world throughout October! Originally titled Everest, the movie started its production almost ten years ago under the helm of Jill Culton who was later on replaced by another director only to return to the movie in 2018 again. Visually stunning and filled with delightful, heart warming images and enchanting animated landscapes, the $75 million worth movie is expected to earn about $20 million in its first opening weekend. This is the third yeti film in recent time to be released beside Smallfoot and Missing Link!

A Yeti Must Find His Family 
When teenage Yi (Chloe Bennet) encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai, she and her mischievous friends Jin (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) and Peng (Albert Tsai) name him “Everest” and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth. But the trio of friends will have to stay one-step ahead of Burnish (Eddie Izzard), a wealthy man intent on capturing a Yeti, and zoologist Dr. Zara (Sarah Paulson) to help Everest get home. One of our favourite blond hunks from the big screens Glen Powell will star in the romantic movie adaptation of Lisa Grunwald's upcoming book TIME AFTER TIME which is not out yet: it will be published next month by Random House. As 'Deadline' reports, the book is described as a magical love story is set against the workings of Grand Central Terminal and the solar phenomenon known as Manhattanhenge, which takes place when the sun rises and sets between the city’s skyscrapers aligning perfectly with the streets below. Lauren Oliver is writing the script for the film which will be a starring vehicle for Glen Powell, whom we watched in Hidden Figures and as the super charming officer in Guernsay Potato Peel Pie and Book Club, and whom we will also watch in new Top Gun: Maverick!

I've recently informed you that BBC and Netflix are making new epic series TROY: FALL OF A CITY and today the cast has been announced! 8 part epic tale of mortals and gods, will go back to the judgement of Paris, his scandalous love affair with Helen, and the ill-starred prophecy surrounding his birth. Centred around the Trojan royal family at the heart of the siege, and combining thrilling adventure with heart breaking intimacy, it will deal with existence and identity; of people battling to retain their sense of humanity and compassion amid the devastation and destruction of war.

Speaking of myths and fantasy, 'Deadline' reports that DreamWorks has bought the movie rights for the author of How To Train Your Dragon Cressida Cowell's Fall 2017 new fantasy trilogy THE WIZARDS OF ONCE. The story centres on Xar, a 12 year old wizard prince without magic, and Wish, a 12 year old warrior princess with a magical object in a world where magic is reviled and illegal. When they collide in the wild wood on the trail of a deadly (and thought to be extinct) witch, it’s the start of a grand adventure that just might change the fabric of their world.

As Ferdinand grows big and strong, his temperament remains mellow, but one day five men come to choose the "biggest, fastest, roughest bull" for the bullfights in Madrid and Ferdinand is mistakenly chosen. 'LOST AMAZON'

A lush adventure awaits us also in Roland Emmerich produced animated movie LOST AMAZON set for 2018 release. The story of the movie is set a long, long, long time ago somewhere deep in the Amazon Jungle and centres on Yano, son of the village chief, who is desperate to prove to his father that he can be a warrior. While he is often the laughing stock of the village, he and his spirit animal (the poisonous dart frog Fred whose venom makes the victims skin sprout instantly with wild tufts of hair) find themselves suddenly responsible for saving all the warriors of the tribe and the entire Amazon Forest when they are kidnapped by aliens. Yano's team will also include the village tomboy Ayira and her sidekick capybara, Capo, Nana (the Fred loving piranha) and a devious monkey Rupert!

'THE SON OF BIGFOOT'

Meanwhile, French and Belgian animated movie shot in English language THE SON OF BIGFOOT will arrive this August  following  teenage outsider Adam who sets out on an epic quest to uncover the mystery behind his long lost dad, only to find out that he is none other than the legendary Bigfoot! He has been hiding deep in the forest for years to protect himself and his family from HairCo., a giant corporation eager to run scientific experiments with his special DNA. As father and son start making up for lost time after the boy's initial disbelief, Adam soon discovers that he too is gifted with superpowers beyond his imagination. But little do they know, HairCo. is on their tail as Adam's traces have led them to Bigfoot!
