I told you before that Nikolaj Arcel is planning an epic biopic on Hans Christian Andersen MY FAIRYTALE LIFE and now he has revealed Casper Kjaer Jensen as the lead. In the film, Hans Christian Andersen, a socially awkward outsider, moves to Copenhagen with an impossible dream of conquering the city’s vibrant cultural life and becoming a famous artist. In a colourful world of actors, playwrights and benefactors, Hans Christian fights to gain recognition, acceptance, and love. The production should start towards the end of the year in Denmark.

According to Deadline, Alex Proyas is set to direct historical epic THE HAKIM about legendary Bahrain ruler Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa who led his country through an immense period of change over the course of 63 years from 1869 to 1932. The storyline will follow Shaikh Ali from his time as a young ruler who inherits Bahrain’s throne at 19-years-old following the death of his father. He must hold his family and nation together amid piracy, the collapse of the pearling economy, natural disaster and the discovery of oil that will reshape the future of the region.

Nikolaj Arcel is preparing an epic movie biopic on famous fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen titled MY FAIRYTALE LIFE. Hans Christian Andersen, a socially awkward nobody, moves to Copenhagen with dreams of conquering Denmark’s cultural elite and becoming a famous artist. In a colourful and merciless world of actors, playwrights, and snobbish benefactors, Christian fiercely fights to get the recognition and love he so desperately craves. But his own delusions of grandeur may turn out to be his greatest weakness; the last thing he wants is to be known as a children’s fairytale writer.

It is not actually coming out to cinemas anytime soon with the premiere scheduled for November 6th next year, but we already have the first trailer and poster with KJ Apa in the lead role in James Stewart biopic JIMMY which also includes Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer, Max Casella as Frank Capra, Sarah Drew as Hedda Hopper, Julian Works as Second Lieutenant Martinez, and Jen Lilley as Stewart’s wife Gloria while Neal McDonough stars as Stewart’s father. The movie chronicles Pennsylvania-native Stewart’s rise in Hollywood, including winning an Academy Award for his work in “The Philadelphia Story,” before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a combat pilot at the beginning of World War II and he flew 20 missions over Europe, rising to the rank of colonel, only to return home broken and disheartened. Not long after his return home, he starred in Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” in 1946.

As Variety reveals, Lambert Wilson is set to play King Louis Phillipe of France in CHOPIN, CHOPIN historical biopic on famous composer Frederic Chopin who will be played by Eryk Kulm in the film by director Michał Kwieciński! 

 

  SET IN 

the first half of the 19th century, it will be an accurate and touching vision of the last part of the composer’s life alternating between lavish court scenes, where French King Louis Philippe will appear both flippant and distressed, and intimate moments, showing the solitude of this artist and his eventual descent into illness and death. Chopin was a volcano of energy, a prankster and the king of society. He loved parties and going to bed at 10 in the morning. On the other hand, he was an introvert, shunned by the world and locked in a cocoon of music, and plagued by terminal illness. That’s how he will be portrayed in the film: as a man torn between two women, death and music. Above are first photos from the film.

Arriving to Cannes Market is John Maclean's period set movie TORNADO with Jack Lowden in the lead role! Set in the rugged landscape of 1790s Britain, Tornado (Kōki), is a young and determined Japanese woman who finds herself caught in a perilous situation when she and her father’s (Takehiro Hira) travelling puppet Samurai show crosses paths with a gang of ruthless criminals led by Sugarman and his ambitious son Little Sugar (Jack Lowden). In an attempt to create a new life for herself, Tornado seizes the opportunity to take matters into her own hands and steal the gold from their most recent heist.

Our latest info from the upcoming movie market in Cannes comes from Screen Daily: according to their sources Callum Scott Howells has been set to portray Holly Johnson in RELAX movie biopic on his famous 80s pop band Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the creation of their biggest hit "Relax" which was storming the charts back in its day. The film was written and directed by Bernard Rose who, very interestingly, directed the original music video for the said music hit. The film is based on Holly's memoirs A Bone In My Flute.

Danica Curcic will be the hunter tribe queen

2024 release. The film is set around 4,000 BC, during the transition from Hunter Stone Age to Peasant Stone Age. The story follows a 19-year-old girl, Aathi (Angela Budalovic), whose family are the first farmers to arrive in what is now Denmark; when her family is killed by a local tribe of hunter-gatherers, she and her brother are forced to live with the tribe in the vast and eerie forest and learn new traditions in order to survive. As the culture crash becomes more ruthless, Aathi must decide if she will take her revenge. Serbian actress Danica Curcic is playing the leader of the hunter-gatherer tribe. A Pre-Indo-European language has been developed especially for the film to ensure authenticity!
