DIVA PERIOD SET SERIES ON
17TH CENTURY'S JULIE MAUPIN
Beside Chevalier movie drama about a son of an African slave who became a famous composer and violinist at the court of Marie Antoinette, we can expect another project about a great musician at the French court. Max
Benitz is set to write DIVA period set television series with Ed Glauser and Michael Shyjka as executive producers. With the story set at Louis XIV’s Palace of Versailles, DIVA tells of an impoverished servant in 1680s France who battles rogues and royalty in her quest to conquer the stage, finding fame, fortune and love along the way. Notorious French opera singer Julie Maupin, known as Mademoiselle Maupin, was a mysterious real life figure who has had numerous works of fiction written about her. She was a rock star and a celebrity before those terms existed. A young woman determined to escape her abusive upbringing and secure her independence and freedom, she rebels against her family and flouts every rule, striving to live and love the way she chooses.

TCHAIKOVSKY'S WIFE
PERIOD SET MOVIE IN WORKS
Over in good old Russia, helmer Kirill Serebrennikov is preparing TCHAIKOVSKY'S WIFE movie about the tumultuous relationship between Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the most famous Russian composer of all time, and his
wife Antonina Miliukova.
Set in 19th century Russia, the movie portrays Miliukova, a beautiful and bright young woman who became obsessed with Tchaikovsky after listening to his music for the first time. The composer will finally accept their union but once married, he will be blaming her for his
misfortunes and breakdowns, and will try to get rid of her in every possible way. Miliukova, meanwhile, decides to endure and to do whatever it takes not to divorce him. Humiliated, disgraced and discarded, she slowly slips into madness. The movie is filled with extreme full frontal male nudity in lots of scenes.
Odin Biron plays the title role of the composer's wife |
The film abounds in full frontal male nudity, there is tons of it |
I read Gautier's Mademoiselle de Maupin that was loosely based on Julie's story. I'm looking forward to this series. Dame Glenda Jackson's portrayal of Nina Miliukova in The Music Lovers was so powerful that I don't think any other actress could top it.
ReplyDeleteI reckoned if anyone has heard of her it would be you :)
DeleteI have seen some of the naughtiest scenes from Tchaikovskys Wife and they are extremely steamy, there is full nekkidness, masturbation.... we will need smelling salts. The photo above with the sailors actually has the bottom part which I had to censor due to Blogger LOL I kept it for myself in full naturally.
Hehe, when we were young, my sister nicknamed me The Queen of Trivia because I would know things that nobody knew or cared to know. By the way, Gautier’s Maupin was a transgender of a sort.
DeleteWeimar Germany and the Soviet Union of Lenin were paradises for free love in all its expressions. Then came Stalin (and Hitler) and screwed everything. One thing I enjoy about Russian period pieces of the last decade is how they badmouth Uncle Joe and his times.
Yes, during comrade Lenin they were very liberal, probably the most liberal country in the world when it comes to sexual and marital freedoms.
DeleteTchaikovsky was homosexual, but Russia is very homophobic Country.I know they censored vos gay side:(
ReplyDeleteIt is sadly, but it is interesting that they had times when being gay was not outlawed, for example during Lenin. That was a short time when they could live in polygamy, husband and wife and their lovers on the side too and they deemed it liberating and progressive. Sadly it did not last long as Stalin has stopped that. Very brutally too.
DeleteI couldn’t stay with someone who wanted rid of me so bad. What a sad why to go through life. On another topic, fekkin Facebook is no longer showing your posts in my newsfeed 😡
ReplyDeleteI did notice that most of my usual likers at the page are missing lately. It has been a month of very bad luck, deary, my net is also very bad last two weeks, and then I also broke my glasses on Friday. Now I'm as blind as an owl. Zodiac says the bad period should end next week, so let us keep fingers crossed for me, because I'm sick of bad luck.
DeleteOh, no! What a crummy round of bad luck, indeed! Sending out positive vibes for a quick turnaround. Heaven knows you and I both need a little good in our lives!
DeleteWe do acutely.
DeleteInteresting subjects and periods, both!
ReplyDeletePhilie!!!!!
DeleteThese both look good today. Imagine being rejected, cast away, and then losing your mind? What a sad story..
ReplyDeleteWell, she was obviously a sociopath and a psycho too.
