KELVIN HARRISON JR TO LEAD NEW 18TH CENTURY SET MOVIE
As Variety reports Searchlight Pictures has cast Kelvin Harrison Jr in the lead role in their period set drama CHEVALIER DE SAINT GEORGES which will be directed by Stephen Williams. Born in 1745 in the French Caribbean, De Saint Georges was the illegitimate son of an African slave and a
French plantation owner. He rose to improbable heights in French society, dazzling as both a violinist and composer, and a champion fencer. An ill-fated love affair with a French noblewoman, and a falling out with Marie Antoinette and her court led to his untimely downfall.

The first one sounds really good! I wonder if he was wrongfully convicted? The second one sounds intriguing but we will need the trailer to see if it’s boring.
ReplyDeleteI haven't investigated the case, but the court battle did last for 16 freaking years.
DeleteThe Staircase sounds good. I followed the trial and they did seem to have the evidence they needed to convict him.
ReplyDeleteOh, so he did spend years in jail?
DeleteNowadays, documentary-movies are so popular. Staircase looks great. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes, especially since Netflix started streaming them.
DeleteI really like Colin Firth! THE STAIRCASE is for sure on my list to watch.
ReplyDeleteHope it will be good.
DeleteI enjoyed watching Colin Firth not that long ago in Supernova, along with Stanley Tucci. He was good in it, they both were. 🙂
ReplyDeleteI have it downloaded but I still haven't seen it although I do look forward to it. I do adore me that genre.
Deletelove to watch documentary movie...
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it.
DeleteOooh, Colin will make a great murderer! I always thought he should have more sinister roles. I'll have to look this story up. I can't believe the trial went on for 16 years. Whatever happened to a fair and speedy trial?
ReplyDeleteAt least he wasn't sentenced to death like some other poor chaps.
