SF NOVEL AUSTRAL
TO BECOME SF TV SERIES
Award winning author Paul McAuley’s acclaimed science fiction novel AUSTRAL is getting an epic series adaptation from Circle of Confusion Television
Studios and ITV Studios’ Big Talk Productions according to Variety. It is an expansive drama set in Antarctica during the year 2098, decades after the melting glaciers have given way to a new frontier of resource rich land, and a generation of settlers from all around the dying world have converged there. But for Austral Ferrado, one of a number of “huskies,” or people who have been gene edited to better withstand the still unforgiving climate of the far south, this new Antarctica is no paradise. Trapped in a society that has imprisoned her and treated her kind more as animals than humans, Austral will stop at nothing to gain her freedom. Stay tuned for casting news.
Austral will be shot over in Norway |
Austral sounds interesting?
ReplyDeleteCould be really good if they make it spectacular!
DeleteMy husband loves science fictions!Gene edited sounds really creepy.
ReplyDeleteCreepy and also very handy if you live in a destroyed world LOL
Deletelove to watch the rose code....
ReplyDeleteShould be good.
DeleteRose code sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt would be perfect for ITV.
DeleteI would love to read this first book. I hope it will be translated into Polish soon.
ReplyDeleteProbably not soon, but maybe sometime this year.
DeleteRose Code sounds really good but Austral is not for me. I actually saw that book but passed it by for a lighter read after that Lusitania nightmare of a book! Maybe I will read it this year. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it could be interesting especially as the writer is, methinks, Australian.
DeleteRose Code for sure! I imagine I would not be good at cracking codes since I hate puzzles, but Allison would have been good at it. Her brain is just wired to make her good at strategic puzzles and games. I hate playing anything with her since she damn near always wins.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what kind of spies would we be given our lack of cunning LOL We'd probably just end up serving food to soldiers in a mess hall and that would be the height of our military careers.
DeleteI'd probably even get kicked out of that for eating all the food LOL
DeleteAnd I'm not even that good in peeling potatoes...
