announced that they have set August 21st as the starting date for their Game of Thrones prequel
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON which is just ten days ahead of Amazon's launch of their Rings of Power epic series. Based on
George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.
Paddy Considine leads the cast as King Viserys Targaryen Viserys, who was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. A warm, kind, and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy, but as we’ve learned from Game of Thrones, good men do not necessarily make for great kings.

I like Toni Collette. We just watched Pieces of Her. Muriel's Wedding was the first movie that I watched, then the 6th Sense..And now with Colin Firth in The Staircase...can't wait!
ReplyDeleteShe has been one of my faves since Muriel!
DeleteHmm, I might have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteShould be fun!
DeleteI told you, HBO would have some major epic by the end of summer. All and all, and being a thronie, I think I'll pass. Fantasy is no longer my cup of tea (unless it's historical)
ReplyDeleteI just think it looks hilariously cheap and the casting is just terrible, Cooke does not look like a princess, Matt is not handsome or charismatic for that role, Ifans is a comedian, and the rest of them are as charismatic as a plate of potato mash. I will give it a go, but I expect I won't last more than an episode or two especially as I hated GOT from the bottom of my period set drama soul.
DeleteDitto, ditto and sadly more ditto.
DeleteDitto it is!
DeleteOh gosh, Game of Thrones is getting a prequel??? Can't we get a prequel to something fun, like Gilmour Girls or Friends instead??? lol
ReplyDeleteGilmores should stay away forever after that atrocious sequel season. And Friends too, as we don't want them to be ruined with wokeness.
DeleteI read the GOT books and bejezus they were boring as hell. Idk how it became so popular. I never did watch the series on HBO and think I'll pass on this one too.
ReplyDeleteI will probably watch an episode or two and expect to be scandalised by the lack of quality and story.
