'WAITING FOR ANYA'
FIRST POSTER UNVEILED!
|
Stay tuned for the first trailer soon! |
You all loved the big screen adaptation of
Michael Morpurgo's
War Horse, and now another of his books has been adapted and is ready to hit cinemas.
WAITING FOR ANYA will arrive into British cinemas next Valentines and has been sold for Northern America too. The World War II tale has a rather strong cast led by
Anjelica Huston, Jean Reno, Thomas Kretschmann, Sadie Frost. The story revolves around Jo Lalande (
Noah Schnapp), a 13 year old shepherd, and a widow, Horcada (
Anjelica Huston), who help smuggle Jewish children across the border from southern France into Spain during the war.
Ben Cookson both wrote and directed the movie.
Am I the only person in history that wasn't impressed with War Horse? That aside, this movie does sound intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI've never actually watched it, but I like the actors that starred in it.
DeleteI did enjoy the movie "War Horse" and I hope to enjoy this new movie too. I've meant to read the book "War Horse" ever since I saw the movie years ago but still haven't gotten around to it. The story of my life, LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes, writing posts about poop are of bigger importance LOL
DeleteIt's a shitty world, my friend.
DeleteShittier than ever, actually :( and sadly...
DeleteI am always up for a movie that highlights the heroes that helped smuggle innocents to safety during WW2.
ReplyDeleteWe've just had a documentary movie about a woman called Diana Budisavljevic who saved 10,000 Serbian and Jewish kids (who were the main target of Nazis) during WW2 and even had a catalogue of them all so that she could reunite them with their parents after the war, but she later died forgotten and only now we've discovering her efforts. We are also currently shooting a movie about infamous Jasenovac camp in which German and Croatian Nazis killed, raped and gassed Jewish, Serbian and Gypsy people.
DeleteI'm glad that these stories are finally being told. I'm sure there were many unsung heroes from that time, who will only be remembered by the people that helped them escape that horror. They are all equally deserving of recognition for their efforts, but sadly we won't ever hear of them all.
DeleteEurope is currently in the process of history being rewritten by the neonazis. Lithuanians, Croats, Poles are changing history to fit their agenda turning Russians and Serbs who were the absolute victims and heroes of WW2 into villains. It is beyond disgusting. And yet liberal society allows them to change the past. We have a monument in my city for Hungarians who were killed by Communists after the WW2 when Partisans freed the city from Hungarian nazis and they added a lot of Hungarian nazi butchers to the list on that monument as if they were the victims not the villains, it is beyond disgusting. And with millenials, you know they question everything and do not believe history, soon they will say WW2 never happened.
DeleteIt saddens me to say, but I have heard people already say that The Holocaust is a myth. How do you deny something such as this? It's an insult to many people and just outright ridiculous!!!
DeleteThe establishment will soon start denying our present as well, it is already done with wars, when they tell you they are attacking a country for that and that reason while the real reason is something greedy and evil.
DeleteTo be honest, I don't like War movies... except "The Pianist", that was a masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteThey are necessary as history tends to repeat itself if we don't learn anything from it.
