THE STORY OF THE GOOD LIAR
sees Ian McKellen playing career con artist Roy
Courtnay who can hardly believe his luck when he meets well-to-do widow Betty McLeish (played by Helen Mirren) online. As Betty opens her home and life to him, Roy is surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life. This will, if I am not mistaken, be the fourth time Beauty and the Beast's Bill Condon directs Ian McKellen on the big screens!

My kind of romanticism; and I'll say this: these two great actors, Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen are coping with age and its marks, quite nicely, judging by their recent photos in the media.
ReplyDeletewe do love them both and also all of the other senior actors mentioned today, I often don't know what I'd watch of movies if there weren't for English films and their actors. That goes for shows too! And what a shocking difference in the depth of culture between UK and USA when it comes to this.
DeleteThese all look excellent! The Brits know how to make good movies.
ReplyDeleteDon't know what we'd do without them!
DeleteAdding these all to my must see list. I agree with Debra. I usually enjoy most of what the Brits put out.
ReplyDeleteI watched mostly just their movies so far this year. they rarely disappoint.
DeleteHelen Mirren and Ian McKellen together - wow, that is a pairing!
