GEORGE R.R. MARTIN'S SF SERIES 'NIGHTFLYERS' CASTS EOIN MACKEN & GRETCHEN MOL! KATE BECKINSALE TO FLY TO CONGO IN ITV'S NEW SERIES 'THE WIDOW'

'NIGHTFLYERS' TV SERIES
EOIN MACKEN AND GRETCHEN MOL TO LEAD NEW SF SHOW
Eoin Macken has just finished Night Shift!
I reported earlier last year that George R.R. Martin's novella NIGHTFLYERS is to be made into a TV series, but now SyFy has revealed the cast and it is rather magnificent! The series, which will be aired around the world by Netflix, follows eight scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of the solar system aboard The Nightflyer in the hope of making contact with alien life. But when terrifying and violent events begin to take place they start to question each other and surviving the journey proves harder than anyone thought.
It has been revealed today that Gretchen Mol will star as Dr. Agatha Matheson, alongside Eoin Macken as Karl D’Branin, David Ajala as Roy Eris, Sam Strike as Thale, Maya Eshet as Lommie, Angus Sampson as Rowan, Jodie Turner-Smith as Melantha Jhirl and BrĂan F. O’Byrne as Auggie. The series will be shot in Ireland.

KATE BECKINSALE TO LEAD
 ITV'S 'THE WIDOW' TV SERIES
Shooting starts this month in South Africa
Meanwhile, over  across the pond, British ITV has revealed that Hollywood star Kate Beckinsale is moving over to the small screen in order to topline their new series THE WIDOW which they will produce together with Amazon! She will play Georgia Wells who has her life turned upside down with a phone call in the middle of the night. Her husband of over 10 years, Will, has been reported dead after a plane crash in the Congolese jungle. Three years later, with her old life now a thing of the past, Georgia learns something shocking. Something that will take her to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, looking to uncover the truth about his disappearance. Still haunted by the past, Georgia is grieving for the man she loved and the life they’ve lost, but she hasn’t given up hope.

  1. I hope they show a lot of that lush green Irish landscape in the series! We've debated heading to Ireland this summer with the girls, but Mariah wants to do Finland (seriously, wtf? you know I hate cold) and Allison is wanting to go to the Bahamas to swim with the wild piggies. Decisions, decisions.

    1. well, don't think so if it is set on a ship :)
You have some crazy children, it probably comes from your husbands side :))) What on Earth would she find in Finland? Frekin cold, horrid food and heavy metal as their folklore music.
You should ditch the kids and travel with Jason wherever you want :)

    2. You can still see the cliffs and grass from the ship, no?

She wants to camp out in their glass igloos under the Northern Lights. I wanted to do a small trip in the States with the girls for a few days, then have Jason take me to Hawaii for our 15th anniversary. Since we can't find someone to keep Allison, Hawaii is a no-go (cause I'm sure as hell not taking them on my dream trip there!) I guess I'll have to wait for our 20th when she's out of the house and off to college. Until then, we have to plan our vacations around the brats.

    3. Why can't some of the grannies watch Allison?

    4. My mom is raising my 11 and 12 year old niece and nephew and works full time. I cant burden her to take Allison to and from school for a week on top of everything else. Jason’s parents are now housing his sister, a grandkid, and sometimes 2 great grandkids so there is no room there. It’s just a pain in the ass trying to make arrangements, so I’ll just wait 4 years and not deal with the stress of childcare.

    5. Well Ally could be her slave for a week :) and she can go to school by bike :) Or just leave her home alone with lots of traps around the house like Macaulay Culkin.

    6. Mama lives 30 minutes away by car. She'd never make it by bike ;) She tried asking if the neighbor girl, who is 17 could just stay with her. Hahahahaha. That was the funniest thing I've ever heard.

  2. I have always wanted to visit Ireland. Maybe one day. Nightflyers sounds like it could be a good series. Thanks for sharing. :)
