HAMNET ADAPTATION
TO BE LED BY PAUL MESCAL AND JESSIE BUCKLEY?
A few weeks ago I told you that Oscar winner Chloe Zhao will helm the movie adaptation of Maggie O'Farrell's HAMNET but now the word around the town is that Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley are in talks to take the leads. This historical fiction novel imagines the story of Agnes, the wife of the world’s most famous writer, William Shakespeare, as she struggles to come to terms with the loss of her only son, Hamnet. It charts the emotional, familial and artistic consequences of that loss, bringing to life a human and heart-stopping story as the backdrop to the creation of The Bard’s Hamlet.
1ST A BEAUTIFUL IMPERFECTION
IMAGE FROM CASANOVA MOVIE
I also have from Screen Daily the first image from Michiel van Erp’s A BEAUTIFUL IMPERFECTION, a romantic costume drama about the love affair between the notorious Italian adventurer and womaniser Giacomo Casanova (Jonah Hauer King) and a beautiful courtesan Galathée (Dar Zuzovsky). Global Screen will be selling this period set movie at Cannes market!
The costumes don't look too flattering on the actor/actress of A BEAUTIFUL IMPERFECTION. What a pity!
ReplyDeleteHis hairdo looks terrible indeed. And casting of Jonah is very weird, he is not that type of an actor.
DeleteLooks like the costumes from Casanova are true to the period. The wig or whatever is on his head looks like it should be refitted, though. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a dead skunk LOL
DeleteOooh a romantic costume drama? Yes, please!
ReplyDeleteI'll be a little crass, but Paul up there looks like he's trying to hold in a fart. He needs a better brooding face look LOL
I thought that was one of his prettiest photos, in most others he sports that fugly mullet of his. This is also the only normal photo I could find of Jessie who is very weird otherwise.
DeleteI don't know him very well, but what the heck is the obsession with mullets on guys the last few years? Like, yuck, yuck, yuck!
DeleteAnd women with fugly butch hairdos. Buckley above and Emma Darcy are perfect examples of that, but unlike Darcy, Buckley is at least super talented.
