We have announced this one years ago when it was announced that the queen of Denmark will be creating costumes for it, but now we have first images from EHRENGARD: THE ART OF SEDUCTION movie from
Bille August. Based on a Karen Blixen book the film will star Sidse Babett Knudsen, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Alice Bier Zandén and Emilie Kroyer Koppel, and will launch globally on Netflix this year.

of Babenhausen, a young, self-appointed expert
on love, Mr. Cazotte (Mikkel Boe Følsgaard), is hired by the scheming
Grand Duchess (Sidse Barbett Knudsen) to help her secure an heir. While
searching for a suitable future
Princess, Mr Cazotte teaches the timid
and introverted Crown Prince Lothar (Emil Aron Dorph) the art of
seduction and lovemaking. But their plan soon backfires, when an heir is
conceived out of wedlock and the royal family 
has to seek refuge in the
castle of Rosenbad. Here, as rivals within the royal family close in on
their scheme, Cazotte himself falls in love with Ehrengard (Alice
Esther Bier Zandén), the maid of honor, and gradually learns that in
fact, he’s no expert on love at all.

There is an Isak Denizen revival. First we had The Dreamer, now this. Let's hope Hollywood doesn't remake "Out of Africa" or "Babette's Feast". This is a adult fairy tale with a touch of erotica
ReplyDeleteThe cast does not seem very erotic sadly LOL Scandinavian things are trendy now, especially with their writers and their detective novels and Viaplay going global.

DeleteThey got the wrong actors for this as these two don't look seductive...not a bit at all!
ReplyDeleteThey are quite old and mediocre looking, the lady could be the countess, so I am guessing the prince and the princess will be prettier, but the costumes look dull and so do the sets.
DeleteHey now, unattractive people need a little sex and seduction too LOL. Not that I would want to be wooed by either of them, but if they want to get freaky, good on them!
