SLAVE MARKET
As you know, while America has Netflix, Amazon and many other streaming services, Scandinavia has its Viaplay, France, Germany and Spain have their own streamers, Australia has Stan and Foxtel, Russia has a number of their own too and so does Southern America, and I think I mentioned a couple of times that there is also a panArabic streamer Shahid which covers most of the Muslim countries. Shahid has now launched their massively ambitious epic TV series SLAVE MARKET which has an international cast, has been shot in more than 100 different locations depicting Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe, with 70 regular cast members and more than 17,000 extras and almost 5,000 costumes done for the show!
NEW SERIES SLAVE MARKET
AN INTERNATIONAL CASTpenned
by Kuwaiti writer, Heba Mashari Hamada, and directed by the
award-winning Tunisian director, Lassaad Oueslati, narrates five stories
taking place simultaneously in different parts of the world. Set in the
1900s, whilst these stories may differ in detail, they all intersect at
the fate of each story’s protagonist when they all fall into slavery.
The first season of the drama follows the journey of five main
characters – Rahma (Arabian Peninsula), Colonel Morton (and his English
family living in Jeddah), Lavani (Mumbai), Quako and Natanda (Eastern
Africa), and Khorshid’s family (European Caucasus) – up to the point
they all end up at the slave market.
Fayez Bin Jurays, Dian Biemans, Apeksha Porwal, Al Anoud Saud, Chris J.
Gordon, Georgia Butt, Nick Cornwall, Oscar Foronda, and Janique Charles
lead the cast of this series set in the 1900s, with nine episodes
following five stories taking place simultaneously in different parts of
the world, which all intersect when each of the main characters falls
into slavery. Although it has been released just a week ago, January
13th, the series has already entered top ten lists of the most streamed
programmes in Arabic world.
Ohh I do so want to watch this. By the way Viaplay is now available to Americans via Roku channel, but I don't know iif I want to invest in it. What are those South American streaming services. I want to see f I have them in my list.
ReplyDeleteI only know about Disney's Star or what was its name, but I know there are others, Spain has Moviestar or something like that, and French Salto, which is on Amazon, is apparently closing this Friday but noone is sure. We got now something called SkyShowtime here in S.Europe, it combines Sky, Showtime, Peacock and some other streamers in one because we are too poor to have different separate ones.
DeleteThe major streaming platforms in South America, at least in my country are Netflix (with different programs) Apple, Amazon (doesn’t offer the variety of sub services that it offers here) Paramount plus HBO/Max, and Disney plus and Disney star. The latter are hoarders they have gobbled all the Fox, Starz ad Lionsgate programs. In my day you just relied on your cable program that like here would offer premium channel packages like HBO, Fox, etc.. Disney has a package but now the cable companies will retire it as to cause no conflict with the streaming company(companies Star is also owned by Disney) Movistar in Latin America is a cable company (they also provide phone and internet services) not streaming. Most Cable companies in Chile dropped the AMC package that included the channels which streamed European and UK films and series. Now you can only access them via Direct Tv which forces you to install the dish, the flat and very cumbersome antenna.
DeleteI think I mentioned once one of the South American streamers but forgot what was its name. Here we have a lot of mobile phone televisions which shoot tons of series and offer them for viewing on your mobile devices, which is very weird and probably wouldn't work anywhere else in the world, but we are too poor for streamers, I think the yearly price for this new SkyShowtime is like your monthly streamer fee LOL Five major networks still control everything here which is why our dictator is keeping them in his hands to control the masses with his lies.
DeleteI don't watch many things about Muslim countries
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that we don't get them more as I'm sure they have interesting ones, like Turkey's Hurem and Suleyman.
DeleteTalk about massive! So many locations and actors! I’d for sure give this a watch if it were available here.
ReplyDeleteWell, what is another streamer for you lol
DeleteMoney I don’t have to dump on another service 🤣
DeleteThey will have to come up with services that connect other streamers together.
