Last few days the word circling around Hollywood was that
Ridley Scott is ready with the script for
GLADIATOR sequel which would not star
Russell Crowe but some younger actor and today it has been revealed that
Paul Mescal is to take the lead role! 23 years after the original movie, the sequel will see Mescal playing an adult Lucius – son of
Connie Nielsen's Lucilla – who appeared as a young boy in the first film when Maximus saved him and his mother from his evil imperial uncle Commodus! Lucius will now enter the arena himself becoming a gladiator too and fighting his own battles. Costume designer
Janty Yates and production designer
Arthur Max also return from the original crew.
David Scarpa wrote the script.
Never let a good idea die, I guess. lol
ReplyDeleteMilk the cow until it dies!
DeleteI enjoyed Russell Crowe's Gladiator. Hope this new one is just as good.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed, although all the other epic movies Ridley did afterwards were garbage. Last Duel last year was atrocious.
DeleteI like the other movie but I really like Russell Crowe which is why I watched it in the first place. I could probably watch this as well.
ReplyDeleteShould be good, Mescal looks hot and has an expressive face and eyes. I just hope they do not ruin the rest of the cast.
DeleteGood looking boy should bring some views in for that alone. I did like the one with Russel Crowe, so I'd probably watch this one as well.
ReplyDeleteHe does that thing with his blue eyes, when he kinda fills them with tears and you are done in a second.
