ANSON MOUNT WILL BE KILLING FOR ANTHONY HOPKINS IN THE VIRTUOSO MOVIE WITH ABBIE CORNISH. EL CID CREATORS TO TURN CITY OF MARVELS NOVEL INTO NEW PERIOD SET SERIES

 THE VIRTUOSO MOVIE THRILLER
ANSON MOUNT IS KILLING FOR ANTHONY HOPKINS
While we are waiting for his new Star Trek series, Anson Mount has finished THE VIRTUOSO movie which also stars Anthony Hopkins and Abbie Cornish.
Anson Mount is taking the lead role
Lionsgate will release the film later this summer. Hopkins stars as The Mentor, the head of a sophisticated group of highly skilled assassins. And at the top of them all is a hitman (Mount) who is the very best at what he does – not merely a professional, but a true artist, a virtuoso. Tortured by a past job gone wrong, and to satisfy an outstanding debt to The Mentor, The Virtuoso accepts a new assignment – but he’s given no name or photo, only a code word and the information that his target will be in a rustic diner in a dying town. With several possible targets, including a deputy sheriff, an encounter with a local woman (Cornish) threatens to derail his mission and endanger his life.

  CITY OF MARVELS TV SERIES
 FROM EL CID CREATORS
As Variety reports, the creators of Amazon Prime's El Cid epic TV series are planning to turn Eduardo Mendoza's acclaimed novel CITY OF
Oliver Martinez starred in the previous adaptation
MARVELS (La Ciudad de los Prodigios) into a six part mini series. Published in 1986 and translated into 14 languages, the book chronicles the protagonist Onofre Bouvila’s journey from small-time hustler to one of the richest people in Spain. The multi-generational story is set against the backdrop of Barcelona’s social and cultural evolution at the turn of the 20th century, as the city shook off its medieval past and reinvented itself as a vibrant modern metropolis. The rise of Barcelona as a mercantile power between the two World Fairs that it hosted in 1888 and 1929 was extraordinary and serves as the perfect backcloth for this story of political intrigue, corruption, murder and romance in the way that will resonate with audiences around the world.

  2. "The silence of the lambs-1991" and Anthony Hopkins. He is one of the brand stars. Sure that this film runs to peak, although he is not the leading role.

  3. I'm one of the many people who aren't into anything connected to Marvel 🤷‍♂️

  4. I'm with Hot Guys. No Marvel for me either. Really, no super hero for me other than Wonder Woman, and those aren't even that great.

    1. Why are you people talking about Marvel, none of the projects today is about superheroes LOL You too are busted! You haven't read the post itself LOOOOL A hundred HailDezzys to repent for your sins.

    2. I did read it, dahlink, I was just agreeing with Hot Guys. Just had me a conversation with someone that wanted me to deck out the old truck in super hero decals this weekend and it irritated the hell out of me. Got momentarily distracted when I saw Hot Guys talking about Marvel LOL. As for the post, I don't think either of them interest me much. Maybe the backdrop of Barcelona, but even things having to do with Spain are irritating the hell out of me also lately. Maybe I'm just in a mood and everything is irritating to me.

    4. I'll be sending Allison there next year (if it's safe from the virus by then). We get a discount if she goes on her school trip. I thought about going with her, but I don't want to shell out the extra money right now with everything up in the air with Jason's job. Plus, I don't want to be tied to the school schedule. I want to do what I want to do while I'm there, not chaperone a bunch of 18 year olds.

    5. Send her on a vacay or a school year abroad?

    6. It's just an educational trip. The seniors get to travel abroad for a week long trip each year. They were supposed to do Paris and London, but it got canceled last year because of covid. Allison didn't want to do that one anyway since she's already been there with us. She waffled on Spain since none of her friends are going, but she'll be able to see her old friend that was here as a foreign exchange student while she's there, so that was what pushed her to say yes to going.

    10. Sounds like a nice slightly conspirational plan.

  5. While I do love me some Marvel, especially if it includes my Chris Hemsworth.. Ok, ok, I won't tease you. LOL The City of Marvels sounds pretty good but the first one is a hard pass for me. Artistic killer movies aren't really my thing.
