I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS
TONI COLLETTE & DAVID THEWLIS
First photo for you today from new drama movie with the elements of thriller I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS in which Jessie Buckley plays a young woman who, full of misgivings, travels with her new boyfriend
(Jesse Plemons) to his parents' (Toni Collette and David Thewlis) secluded farm. Upon arriving, she comes to question everything she thought she knew about him, and herself. Based on Iain Reid's acclaimed novel.
The film hits Netflix September 4th directed by Charlie Kaufman |
THE MAN IN THE HAT
FIRST CIARAN HINDS POSTER
There is also the first poster and a photo from a British comedy movie THE MAN IN THE HAT directed and written by John Paul Davidson
and Stephen Warbeck, in which
The Man in the Hat (Ciarán Hinds in the lead role of the title character) journeys through France in a Fiat 500 accompanied by a framed photograph of an unknown woman. He is pursued by five angry men in a Citroën Dyane. Why are they chasing him? And how can he shake them off? As he travels North through France, he encounters razeteurs, women with stories to tell, bullfights, plenty of delicious food, a damp man, mechanics, nuns, a convention of Chrystallographers and much more. And always, on his tail, the Five Bald Men.
Though largely silent, the film is interrupted by regular bursts of music, with new songs from Stephen
Warbeck, Schubert Lieder sung by the incomparable Mark Padmore, Canteloube aria from the Cevennes, and Try a Little Tenderness, amongst others.
As the Fiat 500 wends its way across the mountains, gorges and bridges of France, the 2CV hard behind him, the Thin Man (Ciaran Hinds) comes face to face with the vivid eccentricities of an old country on an old continent.

I feel like I read I'm Thinking of Ending Things, but I can't remember. I'll have to go to my library's website and read an excerpt. If I did, it must not be that memorable of a story.
ReplyDeleteThe film probably won't be either as it is directed by Kaufman who is admittedly very weird.
