SAM HEUGHAN JOINS OLIVER JACKSON COHEN, FREIDA PINTO, CONSTANCE WU IN MR MALCOLMS' LIST REGENCY ERA ROMANCE! MAGGIE SMITH, KATHY BATES, LAURE LINNEY JOIN THE MIRACLE CLUB

SAM HEUGHAN JOINS
MR MALCOLM'S LIST EPIC DRAMA
Sam Heughan has joined the period set drama
Well, this will certainly be a colourblind period set movie: a few months ago I told you that Freida Pinto and Oliver Jackson Cohen will lead Regency era costume drama MR MALCOLM'S LIST and now they are being joined by Sam Heughan and Constance Wu. The novel by Suzanne Allain, on which the script is based, will be out next month globally. As 'Deadline' reports, Sope Dirisu will play the titular character of Mr Malcolm, London’s most eligible bachelor. When Julia (Constance Wu) is jilted by him after she failed to meet one of the items on his list of requirements for a bride, she enlists her friend Selina (Freida Pinto) to help her take revenge. Emma Holly Jones is directing and preparing a presentation for the buyers at Cannes virtual market later this month.

'THE MIRACLE CLUB'
FINDS ITSELF A THESPIAN TRIO
A trio of award winning ladies has been cast in Embankment Films' new movie THE MIRACLE CLUB which will see Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates and Laura Linney leading the story of working-class women from Dublin who embark on a pilgrimage to Lourdes. As ScreenDaily reports, Thaddeus
Maggie Smith and Kathy Bates will be going to Lurdes
O’Sullivan is directing the movie which will have a 2022 release. It will also be offered to buyers at Cannes. The movie was first planned back in 2004 under Pushers Needed title. A few weeks ago I told you that Embankment will also be offering EMILY movie on Emily Bronte for sales this month.

  1. Glad to see that Sam Heughan is branching out from the Scottish Highlands to Regency England! And three of my fave actresses in "The Miracle Club" one!

  3. Revenge because she was shunned by a man who she wasn't even dating? Sounds like the lady has some issues that really need worked on.

    1. Some ladies have big egos, especially when the man is rich as this one is :) It is like that blooming idiot of a hillbilly from Facebook that organised a divorce party where she smashed her exes' photo with a hammer. Psycho much?

    2. Glad I missed that. People who act like that are usually very toxic to be around.

    3. They've been repeating it millions of times on all possible pages.

  4. 16 years is a long time to plan a movie plus two more years until it's released. After 18 years, it better be a masterpiece!

    1. Yes, it was first done as a short film, she is really milking it with the book as well now.

  6. I would have loved to see Gemma Chan back though. She’s one of my girl crushes.

    1. She is wildly gorgeous, but I don't like her privately as she always comes across as a borderline hateful libtard. A lot of her opinions could be seen as mildly racist.

    1. She loves to play the race card, she is one those that complains that BBC never gives her roles in period set dramas, well, duh, will you see me playing the emperor of China???

  8. You’re right about her milking it. The book sounds terrible, even the new recent reviews are scathing.

    1. I mean first a short film, then the long film, then the book... how much juice can you squeeze from it?
