It is interesting that just like Aidan Turner in

So rich and interesting history of India...Promising!
ReplyDeleteI don't think we've seen much of India set series before the arrival of the British terrorists and invaders.
DeleteYes, you've already informed us about Beecham House.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I remember, the creator and director of this historical drama is an indian female. This fact, I think, might add authenticity and quality to the plot and characters.
She is! The series seems to be her passion project.
DeleteHopefully it will be an honest exploration of colonialism.
ReplyDeleteIt won't as this is not set in colonial times, but before it, while that part of India still had it's Indian emperor! That is why you have this French soldier in the cast, they were still fighting against Brits for the influence there, before Brits won and started their bloody Raj.
DeleteThis is one we have been looking forward to. Better head to Amazon and order me some smelling salts in preparation ;)
ReplyDeleteHe is no Aidan Turner, but he will be a nice summer passtime :)
DeleteI am looking forward to watching this with the good lady.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to order some Indian food next Sunday night :)
DeleteNice that the film is actually set in India. The Taj Mahal would be interesting to see.
ReplyDeleteThe series, not a film :)
DeleteThat should be interesting☺
ReplyDeleteAn inspiration for some Indian food!
DeleteUm... Angie might like it.
ReplyDeleteYou mean she ain't starring in it? Guess she'll just be staring then...
