I've informed you about this one a few years ago, but now Metro International has released the first photos from ROBERT THE BRUCE a mediaeval adventure starring Angus Macfadyen as the famous Scottish warrior whom he already played in Mel Gibson's Braveheart! The film be screening this week for potential byers in Berlin. Directed by Richard Gray, the movie about the nobleman turned outlaw hero who was was crowned king of Scots in the 14th century, also stars Jared Harris as Robert the Bruce’s enemy John Comyn, together with Anna Hutchison, Patrick Fugit, Zach McGowan, Diarmaid Murtagh,
Robert the Bruce will air sometime this year in cinemas
Gabriel Bateman, Talitha Eliana Bateman, Emma Kenney, Mhairi Calvey as Robert's wife Elizabeth de Burgh, and Kevin McNally.

Oh you know, that old story about how Robert the Bruce was hiding in a cave, being hunted by the English and about to give up his quest to free Scotland, when he saw a spider who was spinning the anchor thread for its web. Every time the thread got destroyed, the spider patiently began again and ultimately succeeded. Apparently that inspired him not to give up. It's probably apocryphal but it's one of Scotland's enduring stories.
