meaning and purpose of his art.

Tolkien was an orphan as a child who tried to form a fellowship of friends before WW1 |
Instead, he finds a way to use these

Collins is his love and wife
Edith Bratt who inspired the elven princesses from his sagas.
Derek
Jacobi,

I'm looking forward to this! I assume Derek Jacobi is playing the older Tolkien.
ReplyDeleteit is quite possible!
Delete"Tolkien" should be a great event as it is the biography (younger days) of the writer of the world's most popular fantasy, "The lord of the rings".
ReplyDeleteI understand that he became orphan at quite an early age, and yet look where he got to: professor at the university and writer of at least two best sellers.
Growing up alone or lonesome does sometimes give people the strength to fight more in their lives than other happy kids.
DeleteI agree that growing up alone, or even as an only child, does often spark more imagination and creativity in an individual. Mariah always had an imaginary friend until she was like 6 or 7 and I think that's because she was an only child until she was 5. When she was in elementary school, her English teachers would always get really excited to read her stories, saying they were so rich and engaging. I thought for sure she was on the path to becoming a writer some day. Alas, science is where her heart lies, which I can't be mad about. We definitely need more female scientists in the world.
ReplyDeleteI'd say good scientists, does not matter whether they're female or male! She was probably lonesome in some way. I was also terribly gifted in writing and drawing and painting as a kid, because I was 100% neglected and had to develop creativity as a coping mechanism. All teachers always thought I was an orphan, always, even in high school. Says a lot about my so called parents...
DeleteThat looks promising.
ReplyDeletewe are waiting for a trailer!
DeleteKeeping my toes crossed.
Deletethe whole nation is not breathing
DeleteI would see this in a minute. I love movies like this!
ReplyDeletewe do too!
DeleteI agree. We need good scientists no matter the gender, but far too long females have been made to feel we aren't as smart as men when it comes to the fields of science and engineering. So I love to see girls encouraged to explore those fields because we've had some amazing things happen when girls are given a change (like the black Nasa ladies that one movie was made about).
ReplyDeleteThat's sad that your parents weren't proactive in your education :( I loathed going to school assemblies and on field trips or having to sit through holiday musicals, but I dragged my butt to every one. There's nothing worse than not having supportive parents. But, I'm glad you rose about it and still managed to make something of yourself. I'm proud of you!
thanks, I'm proud of you too, dear. I'd survive them not being active in my education or upbringing, what I can never forgive is that they did tons of work to throw stones in my wheels, knowingly or unknowingly it does not really matter.
