  1. China too?!! It seems to have undergone very dramatic changes, as 'escapism' is not favoured by communism. In the communist world everything is OK; no need to escape to religion or sci-fiction.

Anyway, we live in a global world, and chinese people are not different from the people of the west in that sci-fi appeals to the inner child in them, to their fears, and their imagination.

    1. SF seems to be quite a strong genre this year in China. You can expect more of this genre from them in the near future. I think this one suits communism as it celebrates the Chinese as the saviours of the world, and it is nice to see that change, as we're usually bombarded with Americans as such even though we all know they're the main problem for world peace and have always been.

  2. Pushing Earth out of the solar system. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that. At what point do we just stop procreating and just let the planet die out?

    1. I'm guessing only after we find a new planet to ruin!
