REBECCA FERGUSON

Rebecca Ferguson is Lady Jessica of Arrakis |
JOINS NEW 'DUNE' FILM?
White Queen will rule Arrakis.. or so it seems. According to 'Variety'
Rebecca Ferguson will join
Timothee Chalamet in big screen adaptation of
Frank Herbert's cult sf classic
DUNE to be helmed by
Denis Villeneuve for Legendary.
DUNE, set in the distant future, follows Paul Atreides, whose family
assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a
highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among
competing noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the
story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship with
nature, as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign.
Chalamet would play Paul, but Ferguson won't be Princess Irulan from
the house of Corrino nor Fremen concubine Chani, but Paul's mother Lady
Jessica!

Chris Evans will be the corrupted sheriff! |
Meanwhile,
Antonio Campos has gathered quite a cast for his new movie
THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME, an adaptation of
Donald Ray Pollock's novel.
Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and
Mia Wasikowska will star in the story set in a place called Knockemstiff, Ohio, a forgotten backwoods of the country – where a storm of faith, violence and redemption brews. Out of desperation to save his dying wife, protagonist Willard Russell turns to prayer which succumbs to sacrifice. His son Arvin (
Tom Holland) is growing from a kid bullied at school into a man who knows when to take action. The cast of characters includes a serial killer couple, a faith-testing preacher and a corrupt local sheriff (
Chris Evans) in a story told across two decades. The movie is currently being shopped to potential distributors over at Toronto Film Festival!
Jeez, this is the second corrupt police official that Chris Evans has played since being Captain America, after "Lobby Hero" on Broadway. I hope it's not a trend!
ReplyDeleteHe will remain a good cop in our hearts... at least...
DeleteI've always got a 'soft spot' for desert areas; so I find "Dune" which deals with an entire desert planet(!) quite interesting.
ReplyDeletethey have massive desert worms that like to eat people and can be ridden too :) It is interesting that Rebecca has already played in a desert set project - RED TENT - based on the same book set somewhere in your country, methinks.
DeleteThe Devil All The Time sounds good. Quite a mix of characters in the film, it seems.
ReplyDeletelike in any other village around us LOL
DeleteTrue! lol
Deletethere is always a granny serial killer in each lil' village :) My neighbour has such a smelly chimney in winter I've always suspected she's burning people LOL
