'CATHERINE THE GREAT'
FINDS A PRINCESS & A GENERAL
Over at Sky and HBO, they've added a few more faces to the cast of their epic mini series CATHERINE THE GREAT which will see Helen Mirren playing the empress in her older years, Joseph Quinn will be her son Grand
Prince Paul, Jason Clarke her lover Prince Grigory Potemkin! Antonia Clarke has now been added as Paul's wife Princess Sophia and Adam El Hagar as general Valerian Zubov who had an affair with the much older empress.
Antonia Clarke will be the empresses daughter in law |
CATHERINE THE GREAT the four part saga is set against the politically
tumultuous and sexually charged court of Russian empress Catherine the
Great who wielded supreme power throughout Russia for nearly half of the
18th century; strong minded, independent, brilliantly intelligent and
sexually liberated! It will depict the end of her reign and her
passionate affair with Grigory Potemkin, a Russian military commander
who became Catherine’s lover, favoured statesman and life long friend.
Amid scandal, intrigue and immense conflict, they develop a unique and
devoted relationship, overcoming their adversaries and together serving
as the architects of modern-day Russia.
There are just too many amazing things to watch!
ReplyDeletenever enough it seems to me!
DeleteI like the sound of Catherine the Great!
ReplyDeleteshould be good unlike the other project on the same topic with Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult.
DeleteProbably won't do The Land of I, but Catherine the Great is a yes.
ReplyDeleteHope they don't disappoint us! I never trust HBO, but Sky's sometimes good.
DeleteOkay... so skinny ties are out of fashion again? Good.
ReplyDeletethis is, admittedly, a very old photo. I wanted to put a shirtless Pettyfer photo, which is the way he should always go by law, but I knew you would complain....
DeleteSkinny ties don't go with my impressive chest. Just so you know. Now laugh.
Deleteit is well matched colourwise, though
