PERIOD SET TUESDAY: MARK HAMILL, TOM FORBES, GENEVIEVE GAUNT JOIN 'KNIGHTFALL' EPIC TV SERIES SEASON 2! 1ST 'DEATH AND NIGHTINGALES' BBC PERIOD SET SAGA PHOTOS WITH JAMIE DORNAN, MATTHEW RHYS

   'KNIGHTFALL' SEASON 2
GETS A NEW PRINCE AND A PRINCESS  PLUS A JEDI!
I must admit I wasn't at all excited when, earlier this year, History announced their mediaeval series KNIGHTFALL will be getting a second
Tom Forbes is the new naughty Prince of France
season, as the first one was mediocre at best, poorly written, mostly implausible with not a single likeable character (all of them were slimy, treacherous and immoral) but with the new cast additions being announced yesterday, I might change my mind and give it a go again.

KNIGHTFALL  which starred Tom Cullen as a knight Templar who is trying to solve a mystery of the Christ's chalice while also bedding French king's wife although he is supposed to be his best friend and mentor (it did see the said adulteress queen rightfully killed in the end) will now also have Mark Hamill, Tom Forbes and Genevieve Gaunt in the cast! Hamill will  be Talus, a battle hardened Knight Templar
Lovely Genevieve Gaunt is new Princess Isabella
veteran of the Crusades, who survived captivity for ten years in the Holy Land and is tasked with training the new initiates to the Order. Tom Forbes, whom we watched in Wolf Hall and The Bastard Executioner, will play Prince Louis, the violent and unpredictable son of King Philip (Ed Stoppard) and heir to the throne! Meanwhile, Genevieve Gaunt (who has just been crowned as queen Willow in The Royals) will play an older princess Isabella, the daughter of King Philip and well on her way to becoming the woman who history would call the she-wolf of France. Aaron Helbing (Spartacus: War of the Damned), is the new showrunner, taking over from Dominic Minghella.

  1. Yes, a new cast might change things. The new prince and princess in the "Knightfall" seem to have a lot of charisma.

The BBC mini series "Death and the Nightingales" has all the right "ingredients" for a successful drama, starting with the rather intriguing title itself.

    1. I really did adore Genevieve in The Royals, a rather fun series, a guilty pleasure of mine :)

  2. "Death and Nightingales" -- I'll keep my eyes peeled for it if it ever comes to North American TV.

  3. Death and Nightingales does sound like one to keep an eye out for.

I did not watch the first season of Knightfall, but here's hoping it does get better if it's a show you've invested time in watching.

I did start watching Disjointed last week. Sadly, I can see why it got the axe. I didn't find it very entertaining and neither did Jason.

    1. I often wondered while watching Knightfall why am I even watching it, I think it aired at some part of the year when there was nothing else to watch. It was bad, though, painfully so.

I liked the cute cast in Disjointed, but the stories were definitely mildly stupid... but weeds would do that to a writer :) It did end when it should, nothing more to ad or say to the story. I'm finishing the final season of Young and Hungry and Marlon this weekend. Marlon got worse in the second season. Will move to Fuller House third season after that until Autumn brings us new sitcoms.
I've finished Durrells, Versailles, Marco Pollo, Royals and Poldark this month, so I'm currently in a switch situation, will probably pass the time till Autumn with Outpost, Westworld, Crown and Bodyguard which starts next Sunday on BBC.

    2. I still need to catch up on this season's Royals, Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black, and Fuller House. I'll probably start Young and Hungry sometime next month once I have a little more free time to devote to telly watching.

    3. Royals were unusual but good this time. I really hope the show gets renewed, but it did not have amazing ratings. Then again E! has not much else on so it might still keep it. But with Genevieve getting this gig it might be a sign that Royals are dead. I did like the end of the fifth season, it works well as the end of the series too.
