'DEATH AND NIGHTINGALES'
JAMIE DORNAN & MATTHEW RHYS TO LEAD BBC EPIC SAGA
With the sad news today that Andrew Lincoln is leaving Walking Dead somewhere in the middle of the next season and that Roseanne has been
cancelled at ABC, here's something to cheer us up! I've recently told you that BBC 2 is planning to turn Eugene McCabe's novel DEATH AND NIGHTINGALES into a period set mini series, and now we have the cast! Jamie Dornan and Matthew Rhys will lead the three part saga together with young Ann Skelly!
Irish hunk Jamie Dornan will take the male lead |
DEATH AND NIGHTIN GALES
is a riveting story of love, betrayal, deception and revenge, set in the beautiful haunting countryside of Fermanagh in 1885. A place where neighbours observe each other and inform, a world of spies, confessions and double dealing; where a pervading sense of beauty is shot through with menace and impending doom. Set over a desperately tense 24- hour period, it’s Beth Winters’ (Ann Skelly) 25th birthday - the day she has decided to join the charming Liam Ward (Jamie Dornan) and escape from her limited life and difficult and complex relationship with her
Protestant landowner stepfather Billy (Matthew Rhys).
As decades of pain and betrayal finally build to a devastating climax,
Death And Nightingales is a powerful and gripping drama that follows a
woman struggling to control her own destiny and will illuminate tensions
that tear both families and nations apart.

'THE ASPERN PAPERS'
WITH JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS AND JOELY RICHARDSON
There is also the first trailer from a movie I've been announcing for years now: THE ASPERN PAPERS in which Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays an
ambitious editor who tries to obtain romance letters a romantic poet sent to his mistress. Jon Kortajarena joins Joely Richardson and her mother Vanessa Redgrave in the big screen adaptation of Henry James novel!
Call Me By My Name's James Ivory is producing |
The 19th century movie follows Morton Vint (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), a
young writer and publisher fascinated by iconic romantic poet Jeffrey
Aspern, who strives to get his hands on the letters Aspern wrote to his
beautiful mistress Juliana Bordereau. Now, decades later, Juliana
(Vanessa
Redgrave) lives in a Venetian palazzo with her niece (Joely
Richardson), whom she dominates and whom Morton tries to seduce.
Rosanne should have just kept her mouth shut. People get fired every day for running their mouths online, she should have known better.
ReplyDeleteThey might as well shut down TWD now. I think the girl who plays Maggie is also on a limited run for next season too, so with most of the originals gone or about to be, it's really losing its appeal.
Thankfully, you did give us a few new works to look forward to today.
She is definitely a loud mouthed idiot, but she did apologize profusely after it and I think the sitcom was too important for your society to be cancelled just like that in a second as if it does not matter at all. They just waited like hawks for something like this to happen to kill it. How come Cosby Show reruns are still on, an all those night shows in which they say the nastiest of things, not to mention SNL.
DeleteDaryl is apparently getting $20 million to take the absolute lead, but they ruined his character so much, I just don't wanna watch it with him and that psycho bitch Carol. I'm out after Rick is gone.
You can dig up all kinds of racist quotes from some of the others, like Wanda Sikes, but since she's liberal and is attacking the white race, she gets a pass. If Roseanne goes, they all should too.
DeleteI do like Daryl, but not enough to keep me interested. After they killed off Glenn, it all went downhill for me.
Wanda was the first to quit :) You did hear that nasty Samantha Bee calling Ivanka a cunt the other day... ain't nobody gonna cancel her trashy show for it.
DeleteGlenn's was the most ridiculous death ever, I so wanted them to kill that mullet idiot Eugene. TWD died for me after season 4 when they brought in the governor.
Honestly, I had never ever heard of Samantha Bee until Trump started bitching about her. Again, another one that should lose her job, but I highly doubt it will happen.
DeleteYes, the governor was just terrible. They just need to set an end date for the show already. No sense in continuing to beat a dead horse.
Not only that she won't lose her job, she received an award a day after all the nastiness.
DeleteSince there will be a time jump with the new season, I have a strange feeling they might start the tenth season with whole new set of characters, like years after the original ones lived. To clear up all the garbage the previous show runner dumped on us.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers? I'm in!!
