'GOD OF WAR'
SPRAWLING CHINESE EPIC
Since it is still Easter Monday and Hollywood is sleeping or stuffing itself with its chocolate eggs, we're moving over to good old imperial China with a quick spotlight on two of the upcoming Asian action packed historical projects. First one, the much anticipated GOD OF WAR which should storm into Chinese theatres at the very end of May this year starring Hung Sammo, Zhao Vincent, Wan Quian and Kurata Yasuaki.
THE 16TH CENTURY PIRATES
The story is set during the 16th century, when Japanese pirates proliferated along the Chinese coastline. In 1557, the pirates take over Cengang in Zhejiang. After months of futile advances, Commander Yu finally defeats them under the leadership of newly promoted General Qi. The Pirates, however, manage to escape.

'BROTHERHOOD OF BLADES 2'
THE ACTION PACK IS BACK!
There is also the first teaser trailer, visually quite stunning, for new Chinese epic adventure BROTHERHOOD OF BLADES 2, which is actually a prequel of the prize winning 2014 Chinese blockbuster set in the age of the Ming dynasty. To open in cinemas this August it will star Chang Chen, Yang Mi and Zhang Yi. During an investigation, Shen Lian becomes the victim of a conspiracy after he is setup to take the fall as the suspect. In order to prove his innocence, he joins hands with a female painter and his allies.
Top notch posters, sounds great!
ReplyDeletewe do love some good old Asian action!
DeleteI'm there for these. Anything about ancient China is a must see on my list.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely
DeleteIt has been a rather slow day for movies and television. I figure there won't be many new good televisions shows until late summer when all of the new fall releases roll around.
ReplyDeleteThe White Princess started on Sunday, Versailles second season starts Friday in UK, StillStar Crossed will star on ABC in May, but I reckon it will be crap, Jamestown starts May 5th, Poldark returns in June in UK, and I'm also looking forward to Marlon sitcom on NBC in mid August
DeleteI, for one, am looking forward to a break in promising shows. I have so many to catch up on, if nothing new grabs my attention, that would be a blessing.
DeleteWhite Princess first episode was truly gorgeous and lovely, made me excited and I'm deeply enjoying season two of LAST KINGDOM as well, it is brilliant.
DeleteHow interesting, I haven't come across many Asian films and series!
ReplyDelete-Kati
Some of them had been truly legendary
DeleteCount me in.
ReplyDeleteOK
DeleteWould that make me a blue V.I.P.?
