Three decades on, Martin is invited to Ben's lavish birthday party at the Fitzmaurice's country pile, but Martin fears that the publicity of Ben's bid for Conservative leader will dredge up the secrets of their past with tragic consequences. Lindsay Duncan and Joanna Scanlan also star.

Martin McCann will take the lead role as a detective investigating the disappearance of a teenager that happened more than two decades ago. When her body is finally discovered, old secrets begin to surface, including Jonah’s own personal connection to the case. Beside Martin as DI Jonah Sheens, an instantly likeable, industrious and meticulous detective, who lives and breathes his work, the cast will also include another of our dearest British boys - Bradley James!

THE STORY

 Catherine II always knew that her successor would not be her son Pavel (Vitaliy Kishenko), but her beloved grandson Alexander. Having finally become emperor, Alexander intended to continue the reforms of his predecessors - to abolish serfdom and introduce aconstitution. But at the beginning of the 19th century, a war broke out between two great empires - France and Russia. Alexander will have to go through a thorny path from brilliant reforms to the Patriotic War. What will the victory over Napoleon turn out to be? And will Alexander be able to cope with all the trials that fate has prepared for him? Some action movie casting updates for you today, starting with Kellan Lutz who has been given the lead role in faith based survival thriller THE RESCUE which will start shooting next January at New Zealand. After a violent storm leaves a rescue team stranded on a frozen Alaskan mountain, survival becomes a test not only of endurance, but of faith, as hope is pushed to its breaking point. Darren Simmonds and Jared van Berkel are directing the movie according to Deadline.

Oh, what a treat when a series ads not just one, not two, but three of our favourite boys: BBC has added Colin Morgan, Christian Cooke and Rupert Penry Jones to the cast of the second season of NIGHTSLEEPER thriller series which was set on a train, but this time on a ship with new ensemble. Ian McElhinney, Cuan Hosty Blaney, Madeleine Mantock and Sally Lindsay will also star in the real-time series sees the action move from the rails to the open water, as a Belfast-to-Liverpool passenger ferry becomes the target of a potentially deadly hack-attack. With the crew desperately trying to hide the extent of the threat from the passengers, the ferry’s second engineer Johnny (Cooke) must work with the National Cyber Security Centre’s new technical director, Bo (Morgan), to try and fight back. But as the tide turns, secrets surface and fear floods the decks; it isn’t long before those on land are all at sea too…

I have already presented this series to you earlier this year and last year, but costume drama THE DOLL, new Netflix Polish original, is arriving to the streamer Septem- ber 16th next week and you can watch the trailer below.

 

  THE DOLL

 (Lalka) is the ambitious adaptation of Bolesław Prus’ famous classic novel. Directed by Paweł Maślona the series is set against the backdrop of 19th century Warsaw and follows the complex tension between the wealthy merchant Stanisław Wokulski (Tomasz Schuchardt) and the aristocratic Izabela Łącka (Sandra Drzymalska). Written between 1887 and 1889, the book tells the story of Stanisław Wokulski, a successful merchant who finds himself torn between his progressive ideals and his infatuation with Izabela Łęcka, a haughty and vacuous aristocrat. Covering the themes of unrequited love, class conflict and Poland’s stagnation under the Third Partition the six episode saga will be available for your streaming and enjoyment as of next week, will you tune in?

New season starts tonight with six new episodes

Although the launch date in UK and USA still has not been revealed, just like last year, popular costume drama from Channel 5 THE FORSYTES will have the world premiere of its second season tonight, September 13th, for those in Europe who have Viasat Epic Drama Channel, which is mostly the Balkans and Ex Yugoslavia. Joshua Orpin, Francesca Annis, Jack Davenport, Danny Griffin, Stephen Moyer, Millie Gibson, Tuppence Middleton, Eleanor Tomlinson all return with Richard Rankin joining the cast in the second run.  which was shot last year in Britain, the proud dynasty of 19th century investment bankers faces a new era of scandal, ambition, and shifting loyalties. As love, legacy and reputation collide, the cracks in the family’s polished façade grow ever deeper. With both of the Forsyte younger cousins having problems in their marriages due to their spoilt, immature and treacherous wives, the second season will pick up about six months after the season one finale. Channel 5 and PBS Masterpiece have already shot the third season as well which will be set at the French Riviera and will also have Gregg Sulkin in the cast! The series starts this November

 on Stan in Australia. Based on the novel by Karin Slaughter, the drama centers on sisters Charlotte (Meghann Fahy) and Samantha (Rose Byrne), who have spent the last 20 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte, a lawyer like her father, is the first witness on the scene.
