Second season arrives August 29th on Prime

It has been two years since the first glorious season aired, but Prime Video is finally preparing August 29th as the start date of the brand new season of the epic THE RINGS OF POWER series from the Lord of the Rings universe and today we are celebrating it with a spectacular official trailer which you can feast your eyes upon below and tell us what you think.

 

IN THE SECOND SEASON SAURON 

 (Charlie Vickers) has returned. Cast out by Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and energy and oversee the creation of the mighty Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Season two plunges even its most  beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity.  Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle even more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.

 WHO ARE THE NEW FACES IN THE CAST?

Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb, Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo, and Calam Lynch have join the series in the second season which was shot over in United Kingdom. Joseph Mawle was replaced in the role of evil Orc leader Adar with Sam Hazeldine. The reasons are not known, but Mawle did not take part in promotional activities for the first season either. New faces joining the second season in undisclosed roles also include Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, newcomer Amelia Kenworthy,

The first season has been watch by over 100 million viewers

Nia Towle, and Nicholas Woodeson! The show set thousands of years before the events from the Lord of the Rings movies, will, according to rumours, also have our dearest Jack Lowden in the cast and he will share the role of Sauron with Charlie Vickers. Confirming its status of the most expensive television series ever, the second season was shot on over 120 different physical sets with over a hundred make up artists doing make up to over a thousand orcs that appear in this season. Hulu has greenlit new multicam sitcom from Will & Grace creators titled MID-CENTURY MODERN about three best friends, gay gentlemen of a certain age, who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother and a naked Gen Z housekeeper. As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done. Nathan Lane plays Bunny Schneiderman, a successful businessman with one foot in retirement, forever in search of love, but he first has to be convinced he’s worthy of it. Linda Lavin is Bunny’s mother, Sybil whose strengths are her weaknesses: wise, caring, and iconoclastic — which sometimes means she’s critical, smothering and amoral! In the new period set movie directed by Celyn Jones the cast will have Callum Scott Howells alongside Rupert Everett, Ruby Stokes, Paul Rhys, Louis Hynes, Louise Brealey, Tom Rhys Harries. MADFABULOUS is a fantastical reimagining set in the late 19th Century inspired by the life of the fifth Marquess of Anglesey. The story follows the outrageous Henry Paget, a flamboyant character, so ahead of his time that he smashes through society’s protocols of elitism and gender. (Campo di Battaglia) follows two medical officers, childhood friends, who work in the same military hospital, where the most seriously wounded arrive from the front every day. Many of them, however, caused their wounds themselves, they are simulators, who would do anything to avoid going back to fighting. Stefano (Alessandro Borghi), from an upper-class family, with a father who plans a future for him in politics, is obsessed with these self-harmers and, in addition to being a doctor, he also acts as a cop in his own way. Giulio (Gabriel Montesi), apparently more understanding and tolerant, is not at ease at the sight of blood, he is more inclined towards research, he would have liked to become a biologist. Anna, a friend of both of them since university, suffers from being a woman. In those days, without an influential family behind you, it was difficult to obtain a medical degree. But she works voluntary at the Red Cross with determination. Meanwhile, something strange happens among the sick: many mysteriously get worse. Perhaps there is someone who purposely causes complications to their wounds, so that the soldiers are sent home, even crippled, as long as they do not return to battle. There is therefore a saboteur inside the hospital, of which Anna is the first to suspect. But on the war front, towards the end of the conflict, a kind of infection spreads which affects more than enemy weapons. And soon it also infects the civilian population...

As Variety reports, SF Studios is set to co-produce and distribute KALEVALA: THE STORY OF KULLERVO an expensive historical movie drama based on Finland’s national epic “Kalevala”! To be directed by Antti J. Jokinen it already has Scandinavian stars Elias Salonen and Eero Aho set as leads. Set in the 11th century it will be the first feature film adaptation of the Finnish national epic poetry compilation “Kalevala” which blends Karelian and Finnish folklore and mythology, created in 1835 by Elias Lönnrot, a Finnish doctor and explorer. With production starting in September, the film is scheduled for early 2026. release.

But while navigating the roiling sexual, social and political landscape of the ’60s and the Cold War, her dream becomes a nightmare when she uncovers Von Braun’s dark past. If I tell you that the subtitle of the book is Wernher von Braun, the Third Reich and the Space Race, you will get the idea what the nightmare could be about. Daniel Pyne will be the showrunner.
