Something truly epic for you today: the first photo of our dear Kieran Brew as BEOWULF in ITV's upcoming new historical series! Charismatic DA VINCI'S DEMONS star will take the title role in the 13 part series, while the rest of the star studded cast will include William Hurt, Downton Abbey's and Eragon's Ed Speleers and Wolf Hall's Joanne Whalley! Also starring are Ian Puleston Davies (Coronation Street), David Ajala (Black Mirror), Ellora Torchia (Indian Summers) and Alex Price (Penny Dreadful). The story will be set in the mythical Shieldlands, a place of spectacle and danger populated by both humans and fantastical creatures.

Another epic delight for you today are the first poster and official cast photo from Spike TV's ancient Egypt set series TUT which will air in a three nights event July 19th! The three episodes, each lasting for two hours, are lead by young Avan Jogia who plays Ancient Egypt’s Boy King. Oscar winner Ben Kingsley plays Ay, the Grand Vizier to King Tutankhamun who wields tremendous power and influence as his top adviser. The series follows his rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory, while his closest advisors, friends and lovers scheme for their own nefarious interests. The epic historical series' cast is also including Nonso Anozie, Sibylla Deen, Kylie Bunbury, Alexander Siddig, Peter Gadiot and Iddo Goldberg!

And to finish in epic style, check out the first poster and trailer for Vin Diesel's fantasy adventure THE LAST WITCH HUNTER which brings the hunt into theatres this October just around Halloween!  The story follows Vin Diesel's title character, an immortal witch hunter, who teams up with his enemy, a witch (Rose Leslie), to stop evil covens in New York from destroying all of humanity. Michael Caine, Elijah Wood and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson co-star in this fantasy thriller from director Breck Eisner (The Crazies).

While no less than four new rival movies on the famed medieval Sherwood hero are being planned by different studios in Hollywood at the moment, it seems our green hero ROBIN HOOD will sneak onto the small screens as well! As 'Deadline' reports, Free Mantle Media has bought TV rights on Angus Donald's historical adventure books THE OUTLAW CHRONICLES to be adapted by Michael Konyves whose LAST KNIGHTS with Clive Owen is currently playing in the cinemas around the world.
In THE OUTLAW CHRONICLES, as Robin’s mission turns from trying to raise money for his pardon to something much greater, he must confront the demons of his past, as well as protect those he most loves, including Marie-Anne, Countess of Locksley, the love of his life.

When it comes to new historical series, 'Deadline' reports that OZ and LAW AND ORDER star Chris Meloni will lead WGN America's new mini series UNDER GROUND, a slavery drama revolving around a number of slaves who begin a 600-mile journey to freedom from a plantation in Georgia. They are helped along the way by an abolitionist couple who run an UNDERGROUND Railroad station. Chris Meloni will play a mercenary while DRACULA's Jessica De Gouw will be playing a socialite who backs the abolitionist views shared by her husband.
ROB KAZINSKY IS 'FRANKENSTEIN'
Meanwhile, Fox has hired TRUE BLOOD's Rob Kazinsky as the lead star of their FRANKENSTEIN show which will have a contemporary setting since he will play a retired and morally corrupt cop named Ray Pritchard, who is given a chance to change his ways when he is resurrected. Although the reanimated Ray is described as "athletic, strong and handsome", his mind is actually 75 years old! You will also watch Kazinsky in the big screen adaptation of WARCRAFT

First photo has been revealed of the magnificent duo Ian McKellen and Anthony Hopkins in the BBC's THE DRESSER which is set one night during World World Two as a theatre company puts on King Lear, but with main actor Sir missing and no-one with any idea of where he is, it falls to his dresser Norman to keep the production going - with or without Sir. Emily Watson also stars.

Meanwhile, Spike TV has kindly sent us the first teaser for their Ancient Egypt set three part series TUT which will air sometime this summer revealing for the first time on television, the story of the youngest ruling Pharaoh. The epic series tells the story of TUT’s rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory, while his closest advisors, friends and lovers scheme for their own nefarious interests. Starring Ben Kingsley and Avan Jogia, TUT opens up a fascinating window into a world filled with heart-breaking romance, epic battles, political backstabbing, conspiracy, jealousy, and murder!

Look what I have dug out for you today: first photos from the sets of Spike TV's upcoming new historical mini series TUT on Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun! To air sometime later this year, the epic six hour mini series will have the story revolving around Tutankhamun, aka King TUT (who reigned c. 1333 to 1323 BC), the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, whose famous golden sarcophagus has become one of the symbols of the ancient civilization. Young actor Avan Jogia is playing the lead role of King TUT, while legendary star Ben Kingsley will be Ay, the Grand Vizier to King Tutankhamun, who wields tremendous power and influence as the top advisor to the young Egyptian ruler.

AT THE PHARAOH'S COURT
The biggest and the most ambitious project in Spike TV's history, TUT will also have DRACULA's and GAME OF THRONES' Nonso Anozie portraying the savvy military, yet power hungry, strategist General Horemheb. TYRANT's Sibylla Deen plays Ankhe, the calculating and conniving sister-wife of King Tutankhamun. TWISTED's Kylie Bunbury portrays Suhad, the beautiful and endearing girl of Mitanni descent who develops a strong bond with the young Egyptian king, despite the fact she is not of royal bloodlines. STAR TREK's and DA VINCI'S DEMONS' Alexander Siddig is playing High Priest Amun, a major political figure who holds great influence in King Tutankhamun's inner sanctum. Peter Gadiot plays Ka, King Tutankhamun's close confidant and seemingly loyal friend from childhood who harbours a secret love for Ankhe, Tut's wife. Iddo Goldberg plays Lagus, an Egyptian soldier who develops a special bond with King Tutankhamun.
