NEW MOVIE ADAPTATION TRAILER IS HERE

MGM Studios has released an action packed, stunning and colourful new trailer for their big screen adaptation of popular MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE which will hit cinemas June 5th starring 

Masters of the Universe are out this June

Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson and Charlotte Riley alongside Jared Leto and Idris Elba. The $200 million movie was directed by Travis Knight.

 

WHAT IS THE STORY? 

After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe. 

  

 WHO ELSE IS IN THE CAST?

Beside Galitzine in the lead role, the cast also includes Camila Mendes who plays his sidekickTeela, a warrior who, as Captain of Eternia’s Royal Guard, is responsible for protecting the royal family, especially Prince Adam aka He-Man. Jared Leto is Keldor / Skeletor, the tyrannical ruler of Eternia and a disfigured warlock whose fiendish grip on the planet forces Prince Adam to reclaim his destiny as He-Man. Idris Elba is Duncan / Man-At-Arms, Teela's adoptive father and King Randor's trusted general who fights with his vast array of weapons and gadgets as one of Adam's Heroic Warriors. Morena Baccarin is the Sorceress, Teela's biological mother, and the current guardian of Castle Grayskull whose magical knowledge is unsurpassed. Alison Brie is Evil-Lyn, a sorceress who betrayed Eternia for Skeletor's cause. On Earth, she poses as Adam's former college professor and mentor, Evelyn Powers. Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson is Malcolm / Fisto, Duncan's younger brother and Teela's adoptive uncle who fights with his distinctive metal arm as a Heroic Warrior. James Purefoy is King Randor, co-ruler of Eternia, Marlena's husband, and Adam's father. Charlotte Riley is Queen Marlena Glenn, an ex-astronaut from Earth, co-ruler of Eternia, Randor's wife, and Adam's mother. in which the world was rocked by a comet saw our heroes hide in a bunker and then come out of it after nine months as the survivors of the apocalypse, in the sequel the survived Garrity family emerges outside after five years and must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated wasteland of Europe to find a new home. While the first film was made for around 35 million, the sequel had a budget of almost 90 million. The production team has said that they have ideas for a third part as well. The focus of the story was on a family who must fight for survival as they make their way to salvation before the comet collides with the planet. John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd) make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being levelled by the

In the news from the superhero front, 'Deadline' reports that fresh daddy Ryan Reynolds might be getting a rather gorgeous female partner in the upcoming movie on DEADPOOL! Apparently, HOMELAND and FIREFLY star Morena Baccarin is the main choice for the female lead next to Ryan's DEADPOOL, a smart mouthed mercenary with the ability to heal quickly, making him nearly indestructible. We first saw him back in 2009. in Hugh Jackman's WOLVERINE. The movie is scheduled for February 2016 with Taylor Schilling and Rebecca Rittenhouse being other candidates for the female lead! 

'PASSENGERS' SF EPIC FILM

Another superhero, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY's StarLord Chris Pratt is the current frontrunner for the lead role in the unfortunate project PASSENGERS which has been delayed a number of times in recent years after it lost Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon. 'Variety' reports that Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence (less likely due to her busy schedule) might take the lead roles now in the story of a man (Chris Pratt) who is one of over 5,000 passengers on a century long journey to a distant new planet. When the man's cryogenic sleep pod fails, with 90 years left to go on this trip, he faces the prospect of dying alone as the only person awake on this ship. He decides to wake up a female journalist (Jennifer Lawrence), as they both begin to realize they need to save everyone else on board.
