After the first film earned almost double than its budget back in 2020 we are getting GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION sequel which is set to storm into cinemas this Friday, January 9th as the first blockbuster of the new year with Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin returning to the lead roles, and today you can see below the final super exciting trailer. 

 

  AFTER THE FIRST FILM 

in which the world was rocked by a comet saw our heroes hide in a bunker and then come out of it after nine months as the survivors of the apocalypse, in the sequel the survived Garrity family emerges outside after five years and must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated wasteland of Europe to find a new home. While the first film was made for around 35 million, the sequel had a budget of almost 90 million. The production team has said that they have ideas for a third part as well. Last year's disaster movie Greenland was a massive hit around the world given it aired during corona, and now it is getting a sequel

GREENLAND: MIGRATION which STX just gave $75 million for over at Cannes film market. 

 

   The original film begins with a startling discovery from the scientists: Fragments of a comet will hit Earth in a few days and will likely cause the extinction of humanity, and the only hope of survival is to take shelter in a group of bunkers in Greenland. The focus of the story was on a family who must fight for survival as they make their way to salvation before the comet collides with the planet. John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd) make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being levelled by the

comet's fragments, the Garritys experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last minute flight to a possible safe haven.

 

GREENLAND: MIGRATION will pick up where the first movie let off, reintroducing the Garrity family, who survived a near extinction level event when an interstellar comet hits the earth, and must now leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated frozen wasteland of Europe to find a new home. Ric Roman Waugh will direct again after the first film earned over $50 million around the world.

Avenger of them all, and also an amazing director in his own right, Chris Evans will star in Neill Blomkamp's new disaster movie GREENLAND! Not much is known about the film, except that it will be a character driven, high concept narrative about a family’s fight for survival in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster. Before this, you will watch Chris in THE RED SEA DIVING RESORT next to Alessandro Nivola, Michiel Huisman (talk about a hot hot hot cast) Greg Kinnear and Ben Kingsley, about the rescue of Ethiopian Jewish immigrants to Israel in 1981.
