FIRST IMAGE FROM LAST RESORT
Channel 5 has released first image from their new mystery series LAST RESORT which follows retired librarian Gail (Caroline Quentin) as she takes her sister, Joy (Niamh Cusack), to an idyllic holiday town in what is supposed to be a fun-filled bucket list trip. Sadly, Joy is suffering from the early stages of dementia, so the sisters are keen to get the most out of every moment they have left together, inviting longtime friends Dee (Tessa Peake-Jones) and Charlie (Jason Watkins) along for the ride. However, these
best-laid plans quickly go awry when tragedy strikes the local community, with police being quick to declare an unfortunate accident – but the group are convinced it is murder and set out to prove it. As old crimes surface and dark patterns emerge, the group of friends finds that this seemingly idyllic resort town – with its beach walks, pub lunches, and good-natured bickering – hides something far more sinister. Together they must piece together one devastating mystery and track down a killer who has been hunting in this close-knit coastal community and beyond! John Hannah plays a cop.

LAST RESORT sounds good to me. We are going to watch another old series Taxi again :-)

DeleteToday you've come with a buy-one-get-three deal. Of the three, Last Resort is the one that has piqued my curiosity the most. Those seemingly quiet little towns usually hide more secrets than a bank vault. The Christmas special also looks promising. Thanks for the roundup, it's always a pleasure catching up this way. ReplyDeleteSometimes I push it all into a newsbulletin straight from our newsdesk. You can catch Leanne also on Netoflixo, I did not think I would like the first capitulo, but I actually did and stayed till the end, it is simple, warm and cute, a bit of laughter in your day.

DeleteI might have to give Leanne a try. There hasn't been much else on Netflix these days.
ReplyDeleteIt was surprisingly watchable even though I wanted to hate it, because Leanne herself is not a good actress, but there was something endearing in it and I ended up watching the whole season, it was the last sitcom I watched, now I have not seen a sitcom in a year or so because there are none and even Autumn will not bring us any new. NBC will have some new Tea Leoni Tim Dally one, but I will not watch it as it has Jamie Lee Curtis too whom I cannot stand.
DeleteWell that sucks to hear that there are no good sitcoms on the horizon this autumn. I really need a palate cleanser. I am watching Money Heist on Netflix with Jason and I'm just not loving it. It's not bad enough to chuck in the do not finish bin, but it's not super engaging either. Then with Allison, I'm watching How I Met Your Mother because it's one of those shows I never got around to watching and she suggested it. Another one that I just don't care for. Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky because I'm not finding many shows or movies that entertain me much these days.
