FIRST JOY MOVIE TRAILER
STARRING BILL NIGHY AND JAMES NORTON
Netflix has sent us the fist trailer for their new British movie JOY about the first in vitro fertilisation born baby. Directed by Ben Taylor and spanning from 1968 to 1978, it will follow three trailblazers facing opposition from the
church, state, media and medical establishment, in their pursuit of the
world’s first ‘test tube baby’, Louise Joy Brown. The three figures are
a young nurse (Thomasin McKenzie), a visionary scientist (James Norton) and an innovative surgeon (Bill Nighy)! The film will open this month at London Film Festival, and should hit cinemas in November and Netflix November 22nd.
I remember you mentioned this one before...thanks for the trailer, which is quite interesting. I am glad that it will be on Netflix. We are watching a British thriller series called The Chemistry of Death. It ain't too bad so far.
ReplyDeleteWe had a teaser back in May or June.
DeleteThat sounds like it would be interesting to watch. Though I don't have Netflix right now.
ReplyDeleteNetflix is so bad.
DeleteJames Norton and Bill Nighy are (IMHO) decent actors. I am and always have been Netfix-less.
ReplyDeleteIt will also be in cinemas before it hits Netflix.
DeleteIt still boggles my mind how new IVF is. She's just one year older than I am. Some days I think I can't wait for this life cycle to be over, but then other days I am so fascinated with science, I'd love to see what it brings 100, 200, 500 years from now. What do you think they will laugh at our generation for 200 years from now?
ReplyDeleteFor being a mix of woke, bigot, metoo and all that shit.
DeleteIndeed! When they put the pussy hats in the museum people will cackle loudly, methinks.
DeleteThey will probably disown us and rightfully so.
