GERARD BUTLER TO STAR
IN HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON LIVE ACTION MOVIE ADAPTATION
|
Gerard Butler will be Stoick again |
He already lent his voice to the character of Viking king Stoick in the animated versions, but
Gerard Butler is now set to play him in the live action movie version of
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON as well! We already
reported that
Mason Thames and
Nico Parker will be the lead stars in the roles of Hiccup, Stoick's son, and Astrid! With
Dean DeBlois directing, writing and producing, the movie should fly into cinemas
June 13th, 2025 drawing audiences deep into the imaginative lore. Three super popular animated films have grossed over $1.6 billion around the world.
I want to be excited for this one, but didn’t they cast an African American girl as Astrid? Vikings generally were white, yes? In the animated film, Astrid was a blonde white girl. Alas, I guess we’re just supposed to ignore that once again.
ReplyDeleteI think she is not black, but is not blond either.
DeleteHer mom is Thandi Newton. Definitely has African American in her from there. She’s fair skinned so she can skate by like Megan Markle does, but I’m sure at some point she’ll bring up her AA roots like Markle does too.
DeleteShe is then a quadron. Count on Thandie to push her daughter into business as well, nepotism is stronger than ever.
