Fifteen-love arrives next month! |
JUSTINE PEARCE WAS
the rising star of the tennis world. Her sudden
success aged 17 took her and her coach Glenn Lapthorn to the quarter
finals of the French Open. But, with the world watching, Justine's wrist
shattered and she crashed out. Five years later, Justine works at the
prestigious tennis academy where she once trained and has given up
competing for good. When Glenn returns to lead the academy, having
coached another player to Grand Slam victory, Justine struggles to cope.
Seeing Glenn achieve their shared dream pushes Justine into dangerous
and dysfunctional behaviour, culminating with her allegation to the
police that Glenn coerced her into a damaging psychosexual relationship,
which caused the dramatic collapse of her career. Justine's accusation
sets off earthquakes in the lives of all those around her, putting
reputations, careers and Justine’s own sanity on the line. As Wimbledon
approaches, our key players prepare for competition; but secrets, old
wounds and destructive sexual passion reach boiling point.
As the battle for the whole truth about Glenn and Justine's relationship
reaches its twisted climax, Fifteen-Love shines a light on the lines
between coaching and control, determination and obsession, love and
abuse.
We just watched one about Venus Williams and Serena Williams...I think it's called King Richard led by Will Smith. It ain't bad even though I am not a tennis fan.
ReplyDeleteI would rather die than watch anything with that vile bully Will Smith and his wife! I also cannot stand the Williams sisters.
DeleteIt would be awful to be at the top of your game and get a dibiliatating injury that crashes everything.
ReplyDeleteIt is horrible, it happened to one of our female athletes. When she was giving birth to her first baby, the doctors broke her hip and not only that she could not take care of her baby, but she also could not compete anymore even though she was in her early twenties.
DeleteShe seems crazy, but that's probably the point. Make her look nuts and in the end we find out he was a scumbag after all. That's how these films tend to play out anyway.
ReplyDeleteOr she is just one those psycho me too alleged female victims that turn out to be liars in the end. Just this week we had charges dropped on Luc Beson and some other actor too.
DeleteI always feel like when it is proven the male is innocent, the female should be made to serve jail time. Idk how they can make false accusations and walk freely afterwards.
DeleteAnd yet it never happens, I remember when good old Geofrey Rush was accused two years ago, he literally stopped his career, moved away from the public and became a recluse. Even after he was proved innocent at court, he stayed away as he developed life long anxiety and issues from it all. So not only that his career was ruined for nothing, but also his health and at the old age when he should have respect and dignity not humiliation.
DeleteIt's a shame, it really is. Maybe some day the courts will open their eyes and start making examples out of women who intentionally ruin a person's good name simply out of spite.
DeleteIn my country fines for slander have been made deliberately very low, like a 1000 euro is the biggest fine.
