SEE TRAILER & POSTERS FOR WALKER: INDEPENDENCE, THE ONLY PERIOD SET SERIES NEXT SEASON ON ALL MAJOR NETWORKS

 WALKER: INDEPENDENCE
PERIOD SET SERIES AT CW
Although we are not quite used to seeing period set series at CW especially after they killed their Mary Queen of Scots saga Reign, at this year's recent upfronts,
Independence will arrive to CW this Autumn
the week when all major five US networks are announcing orders and cance- llations of shows for the next season, they were the only ones to offer a historical drama among their new orders. WAL- KER INDEPE- NDENCE will arrive to CW next Autumn.

Set in the late 1800s, an origin story of The CW’s current hit series “Walker,” it follows Abby Walker (Katherine McNamara), an affluent and tough minded Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West. After crossing paths with Calian (Justin Johnson Cortez), a curious Apache tracker, Abby arrives in the town of Independence, Texas, where she
The new series starts October 6th on CW
encounters diverse and eclectic residents running from their pasts, chasing their dreams, and keeping their own secrets, including Kate Carver (Katie Findlay), an idiosyncratic burlesque dancer with perhaps too keen an interest in Abby’s origins, and Kai (Lawrence Kao), a soulful Chinese immigrant who runs a local restaurant/laundry and offers Abby friendship without agenda. Abby also literally runs into Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr), a slippery rogue, thief, and con artist with a dented heart of gold who quickly eyes Abby as a mark, until she turns the tables on him. In seeking justice for her husband, Abby encounters Independence’s noble deputy sheriff, Augustus (Philemon Chambers), and his new boss, Sheriff Tom Davidson (Greg Hovanessian), who she has reason to believe is a very bad man indeed. Abby and Hoyt soon find themselves precariously aligned, both seeking to uncover the truth about the identity of Abby’s husband’s killer, and vow to save Independence – a frontier boomtown where nothing is what it seems.Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think.

  1. Abby Walker sounds like a strong and inspiring woman...the trailer ain't very impressive, but I do like the plot.

    1. Yes, she is a bad actress, pretty but not talented, they should have done a better female lead casting. But CW audience loves lack of talent, you just need to be gorgeous to star there and not much else.

  2. This comes as part as the new Western fad. As a former Western freak, I'm not ready to go back to it again

    1. Yes, with this, 1883 and its million upcoming spinoffs and Django, plus That Dirty Black Bag already aired, this year is all about Westerns.I'm not into them, but I do love me some Matt Barr, he is mostly nekkid in tons of his series LOL

  3. I doubt this is something I would watch. I'd rather see something modern and scary. lol

  4. Um, this scares me! The only Walker I watch on the CW is my man Padalecki.

    2. Really??? Now I have to do more research. But what about his Walker show? Is it safe? Do we get a season 3? The first season was AWFUL but now that they got rid of their super "woke" character, it's pretty good.

  5. Can't say this one is for me. I'm not much into what the CW has to offer. Like you said, they usually only care about pretty people, not casting anyone with a lick of talent.

    1. They are terrible, I don't know why they have a national frequency in your country.
