  1. Redwall is going to be so delightful! I can't wait til it hits Netflix!

I think we could all use some more Russian cinema in our lives. It's always so cute, quirky and fun!

    1. I never understood what none of your studios buys Russian films for your market other than traditional enmity factor. Their films always have what Hollywood lacks - empathy, warmth, family fun, fairy tales, everything that makes cinema a venue of splendour and dreams.

    2. Because us Americans usually lack culture and are easily amused by idiotic plots than projects with substance.

    3. I don't know why today's generation prefer violence over fairy tales.

    4. I will always pick the fairy tales.

I wanted to let you know that I’m going to be taking Allison to New Orleans to spend a week starting tomorrow, so I won’t be online much/if at all til we get back. I figured this will be the only time in our lifetime there won’t be crowds, parades and parties at Mardi Gras, so we can enjoy walking the city reasonably safely. Want me to grab you a love spell voodoo doll while I’m there? Maybe you can bewitch Henry with a voodoo spell and live happily ever after ;)

    5. Oooh, where will you be staying there? Yes, get me a voodoo doll, but make it five or six to cover Chris Evans, Hiddleston, Richard Madden, Jack Lowden, Glen Powell and all other of potential husbands.

    6. How about one really big one and you can pin all of their names to it and hope at least one takes the bait LOL.

We're staying in the French Quarter near Burbon Street. Normally I would not stay in a tourist district and would have rented an Airbnb on the outskirts of town to save money, but since Jason won't be with us, I wanted to keep it safe and opted to get a hotel in the heart of the city. My blog friend Rosey said it gets real sketchy once you leave the tourist areas, so Jason wasn't about to let me and Allison put ourselves at risk if they saw women traveling alone. Kyle will be going with us too, to help with the driving, but he'd be of 0 help in a confrontational kind of situation.

    7. Stay safe and take care of yourselves, deary, I'm very worried of you travelling anywhere during the covid, I don't think I could be able to lay down in a hotel bed or touch anything there LOL Who is Kyle?

    8. Kyle-Ky Mariah's boyfriend.

We stayed in a very clean hotel and refused maid service while we were there to limit the amount of contact with people. Used a TON of hand sanitizer and grabbed takeout, so we were exposed no more than we would have been living our daily lives in Indiana. Everyone was really good about wearing masks except for Alabama. Like, we were the ONLY ones wearing them in many places. It was so odd. Nobody there seemed to have a care about masks and looked at us like we were the oddballs.

    9. I realized later on it was him :) Was a bit confused he was going without Mariah :)

    10. Ky was supposed to dog sit for us, but then Jason couldn't get off work, so we had an extra spot. Mariah has in person classes still until she graduates in May, so she couldn't go. It was fine with Ky though since he's good with directions and driving, it all worked out well in the end.

    11. That's nice to hear he wasn't disrespectful or anything, maybe he is getting more cultured in your company LOL

  5. They both look great, but the first one for the win! I know my daughters still young, but she started asking for silly books like Captain Underpants and pushing away the good reads I give her. I’m going to try and entice her with those books. Maybe we can read a chapter a night together and then watch it on Netflix after.

    1. Given they're classics, I hope they're good, they're certainly cute.
