Sam Claflin will lead two films at Sky

Sky continues with the development of its own movies (we have
To Olivia premiering this month) with a new romantic comedy
BOOK OF LOVE which will have
Sam Claflin as the lead together with
Veronica Echegui in a story about two writers thrown together on a book tour in Mexico. Sky, by the way, plans to release two films a month this year:
Samantha Morton, Jonathan Pryce, and
Tom Felton will star in their
SAVE THE CINEMA film based on true events about Liz Evans who makes it her mission to stop her local cinema from being demolished.
Jack Lowden will, meanwhile, lead their
KINDRED psychological thriller about a vulnerable mother to be who is taken in by her recently deceased boyfriend’s mother and stepson, who seem increasingly obsessed with her every move.
Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones and
Zach Braff will lead Sky's
THE COMEBACK TRAIL about two movie producers who owe money

to the mob and set up their ageing movie star for an insurance scam to try and save themselves. They also hired
Sam Claflin to star in
EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE in which
Casey Affleck stars as a psychiatrist who finds his life in turmoil following the sudden suicide of his patient. When he invites his patient’s surviving brother
(Sam Claflin) into his home to meet his wife (
Michelle Monaghan) and daughter, his family life and career are suddenly torn apart.
Kate Beckinsale will lead Sky's
JOLT as a bouncer with a murderous anger management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode lined vest to shock herself back into normalcy whenever she feels homicidal. This is just a small number of films from the whole slate that also includes some animated adventures (we already announced
Dragon Rider).
Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones in the title have definitely caught my attention :-) Lots of good treats this year.
ReplyDeleteThey have to pull all possible weapons against the big streamers.
DeleteWow, there's some big names there.
ReplyDeleteAnd some future big names too.
DeleteIt's so cool that the guard played by Kate is equipped with an electrode-coated vest.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an interesting spectacle. Regards.
It is very sadistic, methinks.
DeleteI’m most interested in Book of Love. Robert DeNiro, 8 just can’t watch him anymore. After his political rants the past few years, he just strikes me as unstable.
ReplyDeleteHe disgusts me too, I never liked him in interviews either as he comes across as a very pompous person.
DeleteWatched Sam Claflin recently in Adrift, he was good in that... watchable, too 👌🏻😉
ReplyDeleteHe was amazing in Adrift, Oscarworthy if you ask me, unlike the actress he played with who was horrid with her annoying voice. But a much better movie than that one with Colin Firth in which he is also mostly adrift in the oceans.
DeleteYou know how much I love Sam Claflin, although he still has some weight to gain. With that, Book of Love for the win. Kindred sounds odd, but I would watch if it was on and wasn't too over the top. The Comeback Trail sounds like something I'd watch with my hubby when the kids go to sleep. (It's hard getting him to watch anything that isn't full on action.)
ReplyDeleteBoth Sam and Jack Lowden are my absolute faves! Jack is taken, though, he is with that horrid Saoirse Ronan.
