   'THE DUKE' HEIST DRAMA
TO SEND JIM BROADBENT AND HELEN MIRREN STEALING
This certainly sounds delightful! As Deadline reveals today, Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren will star in THE DUKE for Pathe! They will play a husband and wife in a movie based on the real-life story of 60 year old taxi driver Kempton Bunton who, in 1961, stole a Goya painting from the

However, it turned out he was spinning a web of lies, with the full story not emerging for another 50 years. The incident was the first, and still only, theft in the National Gallery’s history.

  1. My Rare One and I took a lecture series course once about art crimes, including theft, ransom, defacing, etc. "The Duke" plot was one of the art crimes discussed. We will definitely have to go see this movie when it's released!

The opera one sounds good too, mainly because I love opera. I did not realize, however, that the Scottish Highlands are "the" place to be an opera singer. Hmmm.

  5. The Duke does sound delightful! Finally something a little different than everything else on TV. While the premise of Figaro sounds like the makes of a great movie, I'm completely unfamiliar with any of those operas.
