COMEDY WEDNESDAY: LILY COLLINS TO LEAD DARREN STAR'S EMILY IN PARIS DRAMEDY! ZACH CREGGER, MICHAEL URIE TO LEAD NBC'S SITCOM FRIENDS IN LAW!

  'EMILY IN PARIS'
LILY COLLINS SET AS LEAD!
Lily Collins is moving to Paris!
Comedy Wednesday today, people! After Sex and the City, Darren Star is preparing new half hour dramedy for the small screens and has just cast Lily Collins (who absolutely amazed us this winter in BBC's Les Miserables with her deeply haunting portrayal of Fantine) as the lead lady in EMILY IN PARIS
Paramount Network's new comedy series will see her playing Emily, a driven twenty something American woman from the Midwest, who moves to Paris for an unexpected job opportunity, tasked with bringing an American point of view to a venerable French marketing firm. Cultures clash as she adjusts to the challenges of life in a foreign city, while juggling her career, new friendships and love life. Paramount's Kevin Costner series Yellowstone was last year's most watched cable series so they're looking to score success with this one as well.

TO BE TOPLINED BY ZACH
CREGGER AND MICHAEL URIE
Meanwhile, NBC has rounded up the cast for their new multicam sitcom FRIENDS IN LAW and it is rather superfun! Our beloved Wrecked and Guys with Kids star Zach Cregger will lead the cast with always lovely Michael Urie, Vella Lovell and Gil Ozeri. The story centres on Brian (Urie) and Jake (Cregger), polar opposites who must quickly figure out how to coexist when their respective best friends Margaret (Lovell) and Randy (Ozeri) decide to get married. Urie’s Brian fears that his best friend Margaret’s potential marriage to Randy will leave him left out. He forms an unlikely partnership with Randy’s best friend, Jake, to disrupt their union. Cregger’s
Michael Urie will be Brian in Friends in Law!
Jake is handsome and a little too arrogant. Jake has been best friends with Randy since kindergarten, and he rejects the unwanted additions of Margaret and Brian in his life.

  1. Why can't Paris call this Midwestern girl over for a new job opportunity? I'd have by bags packed and ready to go within the hour :)

    3. In my country all of the current acting and music stars are celebrity children, sadly, we are drowning in nepotism. It is beyond disgusting as most of them are talentless.

  2. 'Dramedy' - I have yet to get used to this term.
As far as I'm concerned, the series may bear the name of Emily in Rome/or Madrid, as long she's convincing in her efforts to adjust to the european way of life.
Paris is not what it used to be - capital of chic. So any other capital will do.

Gil Ozeri? The name is very israelian, but I couldn't find anuy mention of an israeli background. His bio begins with Brooklin.

    1. Yes, Paris is currently the city of dictatorship, if it was any other country the Western media would already proclaim their president an evil despot, but it is France, so it is OK, I guess :)
