  1. The costumes are indeed stunning! I particularly like the mustard-colored gown of Charlotte Hope in the picture.

As seen in the trailer,it seems the african lady-in-waiting has a black beau. Well, why not?

    1. it is interesting how very different Spanish fashion was from the English one at that time, she really looks like an alien arriving to the Tudor court in those extremely lavish, magnificently embroidered and designed gowns and headpieces. Just like White Princess which boasted with breathtaking mediaeval long hairs and stunningly tailored dresses, this one will leave us in awe with the costume design, methinks.

  2. Hi Dez,

It looks to be quite an interesting series. But, do tell how does she ever sit in that dress in the first photo? Inquiring minds want to know. haha

    1. beats me, Truds, I'm guessing it is one of the reasons women lived very short lives back in those days :)

    2. Well Dezzie, I am sure the costumes for the series will be interesting, I can’t imagine wearing that and what happens when she needs to relieve herself? Hey, just curious? A real life dilemma you could say.

    3. I think their maids had to go under their skirts with a night bowl for that business. I remember the scene in The Tudors when Henry VIII played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers wakes up the night to pee and a boy who sleeps on the floor beside his bed for this very purpose kneels up and holds the bowl above his head so that the king can peepee in it full nekkid :)

    4. Thanks for the information Dezzie now I don’t have to ponder the answer. I do find it disturbing that they had maids/servants do this for them. I guess that is the difference between royalty and serfs.
