'HARLOTS' SEASON 3
CASTS ALEX SAWYER AS A BOXER
We don't exactly know what will happen in the third season of Hulu's period set saga HARLOTS after one of the lead characters has been shipped off to
America and the other one to the loony house, but we know that Alex Sawyer has just been cast in the series set in the18th century Georgian London and following the fortunes of two clans of whores who lead their brothels. Sawyer will be Jack Lively, the star of North’s boxing-tour. He was a dolly-boy in a rich man’s house until he was thirteen, acting as a playmate for a white family’s children. Ever since, Jack’s gone from job to job, that is until North (Danny Sapani) spotted his fighting potential. Jack has a deep understanding of society types, and of how they treat people like him as an outsider. He is highly educated and politically motivated, more likely to respond to racism with an erudite come-back than to resort to his prize winning fists. Jack Lively becomes a steadfast ally to North, embracing his coaching, and all that London has to offer. It is expected that Jessica Brown Findlay and Lyv Tyler will return to the series.
IS SPECTA- CULARLY MOVING
Fox has released a spectacular long trailer for their Lord of the Rings author's biopic TOLKIEN starring Nicholas Hoult, Lily Collins and Derek Jacobi. Out this May, the movie follows his formative years as the orphaned author during which he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school.

Fantastic trailer for Tolkien. I hope it does well at the box office.
ReplyDeleteStill haven't caught Harlots, but Alex Sawyer is a cutie and I am sure will be a welcomed addition to the show.
Green Knight sounds good. I do like Dev Patel, so I'll be sure to add this one to my watch list.
You'd probably like Harlots. They have just eight episodes per season and were dynamic in both runs so far. It's more about plots and schemes than sex.
DeleteI've been meaning to watch it, I just haven't found the time yet. So many shows to get to, so little time. Ugh!
Deletetrue, although, given how bad this TV season is, I often find myself not knowing what to watch after I finish one of my shows. That is why my current TV schedule includes Spanish, Italian and even German epic shows - there is just nothing on BBC, ITV and I haven't watched anything from new American shows this season. I'm waiting for Empire to return next week and also Knightfal later this month, hopefully Jamestown and Britannia will also be back soon along with Beecham House at ITV, otherwise I will have a very dry spring.
DeleteMy problem is actually finding the time to sit down and watch the shows I want to see. I use my ipad all day long to stream older shows for background noise, but they are shows that I don't have to "see" to feel like I've watched them. Like, I've got Bones or Party of 5 on when I'm cleaning, cooking, or working and it's okay if I'm distracted watching those. But I feel like Harolots is something that will demand my full attention, so it gets added to my ever growing list of "sit down" shows to catch up on. Then there's a ton of movies I want to see also that compete for telly time. Thankfully, we have you to keep us up to date on the best shows to add to our lists ♥
DeleteI only have an hour a day for TV and that is why I schedule an episode a day and a movie on Sundays, never more than that. I've never binged anything as I work too much and don't have more than that sad hour a day :)
DeleteThe shouting: 'War! England's in war' is the most dramatic moment in Tolkien's trailer.
ReplyDeleteA boxer in a series (Harlots) about " two clans of whores who lead their brothels" - sounds exciting.
yes, if you think whores were naughty, you wouldn't believe how conniving and treacherous they are as well.
DeleteInteresting hodge podge of shows today.
ReplyDeleteit was a total clusterpluck of news today :)))
