'FILTHY RICH' AT FOX
TOPLINED BY KIM CATTRALL
More soapy drama is coming from Fox and The Help writer and director Tate Taylor whose new pilot FILTHY RICH will be led by Kim Cattrall. It
is a larger than life Southern gothic dramedy that revolves around two strong, sharp women, Margaret Monroe (Cattrall) and and Ginger Sweet, who will go to any length to protect their loved ones and get their due. When the wealthy CEO of the world’s largest Christian network dies in a plane crash, his wife and adult children are stunned to discover he has grown, illegitimate kids who are also in his will. When the steel azalea matriarch of the family tries to pay them to go away, these newly legitimized heirs have very different ideas and insist on not only staying in town but becoming part of the family empire.
Kim Cattrall will lead the Monroe family |
Aubrey Dollar will play Margaret’s daughter Rose Monroe, a sarcastic
but kind hearted clothing designer who yearns to be real and find her
own voice apart from her family.
Corey Cott plays her brother Eric Monroe. Married
with two kids, he’s
the Senior VP of Operations at the conservative Christian Sunshine
Network, which was created by his powerhouse parents. Benjamin Levy
Aguilar and Jason Conley will also star.

'GLAMOROUS' AT CW
STARRING BROOKE SHIELDS
Over at CW, they have found their gender nonconforming lead star in Ben J. Pierce who will topline their new soapy drama GLAMOROUS opposite
Brooke Shields. Pierce will play Marco, an ambitious and creative gender nonconforming teenager who uses make up and fashion to let his queer self bloom. Fresh off his high school graduation, Marco’s life changes when an unplanned rant on YouTube bashing a cosmetics company for their shoddy products lands him a dream internship at the side of its founder and CEO, Madolyn (Brooke Shields). On his own for the first time, this is Marco’s chance to live, love and grow to understand what it really means to be queer.
Ben J. Pierce will lead Glamorous at CW |
Pierson Fodé will play Chad, an ambitious alpha male who works at the
cosmetics company his mother founded, styling himself as her heir
apparent.
While openly gay, Chad is buttoned down,
with a personality and wardrobe that would be more at home on Wall
Street than the beauty industry. Damon Wayans and Eva Longoria are
producing.
Brooke Shields and Pierson Fode will be mother and son in Glamorous |
Both of these are right up my ally. Jason probably won’t watch Glamorous with me because anything having to do with makeup and beauty makes his mind go numb. Just waiting for me to get ready puts him on a mood lol
ReplyDeleteI'd probably find the second one a bit boring myself, but I did love most of the soaps with Brooke Shields, Lipstick Jungle was my guilty pleasure! I hope they cast someone interesting as the second matriarch in the first one.
DeleteI never did see Lipstick Jungle. I’ll have to see if it’s available on Netflix or Amazon. If so, it can be my new treadmill workout show.
Deleteit is filled with extreme hunks! I've always had a thing for Robert Buckley!
DeleteKim Cattrall has star quality. I like her, and as the plot sounds good, I intend to watch the movie.
ReplyDeletetwill be a series, not a movie. If they order the pilot into series, that is :) One never knows these days...
DeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd love that one, Fran :PPP
DeleteI don't think I've ever seen Brooke Shields act. That'll be interesting! (I see in your comment that she acted in soap operas. I never watched soap operas, so I missed seeing her act.)
ReplyDeleteI loved her in Lipstick Jungle, she was nice in it. She has a quirky way of acting, you probably remember her when she guest starred in Friends a few times... she is like that in all of her work :)
