AFTER LIFE follows Tony (Ricky Gervais) who had a perfect life. But
after his wife Lisa dies, Tony changes. After contemplating taking his
own life, he decides instead to live long enough to punish the world by
saying and doing whatever he likes from now on. He thinks it’s like a
Super Power — not caring about himself or anyone else — but it turns out
to be tricky when everyone is trying to save the nice guy they used to
know.
With the right actors and director, the subject of 'afterlife' could make for a great comedy.
ReplyDeleteThis subject gave me much food for thought after a visit to the archeological museum in Heraklion (Crete) at the section with things found in graves.
in this case he is the actor, the writer and the director as well. His work usually has an empathic side to it.
DeleteRicky Gervais always has something worthwhile to say and I'm sure this new series is no different. I'm adding it to my "to watch" list.

DeleteAfter the introduction of the internet, I think a lot of people feel they have the super power to say whatever the hell they want without repercussions. Of course, not to one's face, but we do have a lot of keyboard warriors out there.
ReplyDeletetrue, I've always thought internet will bring doom to the society unless we do something... and I don't know what. World was before ruled by the middle class who set public opinion, now internet gives pretty much any other idiot a chance to say their idiotic things and thus form often very disturbing and wrong opinions and principles.
